Hi guys -

My Rock River lower finally came in, so I was able to put the piece together last night.

I took some pictures to post -

I also got a decent shot of my Benchmade Ritter Griptilian with Phillip Dobson Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber custom handle scales - this pic almost does the scales justice:

Looks good, should be able to drive tacks with that long heavy barrel. Did you buy a stripped lower and assemble yourself or did you get the complete lower ready to pin to the upper?

?That looks like fun. I learned to shoot with a car-15, haven't shot one in a while but it brings back great memories.

Hi Guys -

Wow. Looks pretty nice. What kind of barrel is that?

Thanks Nate - That is a White Oak Armament Varmint 20" bull with 1 in 7 twist.

Nice rifle! I have not shot an AR in over 35 years.

You can shoot this one if you want. I belong to a range down here - we can talk about the gathering and if you wanted to stay overnight to do a little shooting.

Hi ky - I am hoping it is very accurate. I intend to use it for coyote and general range use - mostly 100 yards or less for the range. I bought the lower as a complete unit with two-stage trigger and the adjustable butt-stock.

All I had to do was pin it, put on the EOTech XPS2 and load up a clip!

I will not be able to fire it until next week, though, because I have a bunch of work to do this weekend.

Definitely need to hit up a long range with that(but then you would need a scope). How much does that weigh with that bull barrel 9lbs? That reminds me I still need to change out the A2 grip to either a hogue or ergo grip for mine.

Hi Mr. Sogetsu -

I don't intend to do any really long range shooting with it, not right away anyhow. It is pretty heavy but I have not weighed it - I'll see if I can get that done today.

That EOTech is gonna be mighty sporty at the distances that barrel was designed for!

Hi hatidue - Good point. I got the EOtech because I don't care to put the scope right up to my eye, and the first time I saw one of these holographic sights I loved it. I should be ok at the shorter distances that I intend to use this rifle. I admit I did not think of this sight as a short-distance tactical sight, I was thinking it would be easier on my old eyes.
