I've seen a whole bunch of EDC Busses exchange hands in the forum recently so I thought I would show you one of our members excellent leather sheath work.
I'm picky with sheaths and Dwayne at Armoralleather.com makes just what I like.
(Here's the page listing his pattern knives so you may not have to send your blade in should you decide to give him some business.) http://www.armoralleather.com/pattern_knives.htm
I prefer my EDC sheaths to ride high (out of sight as much as possible) and tight (to the body). No slop in the loop and I like a custom fit for the knife. I also like the rounded bottom. Because it rides high and tight with a rounded bottom, it's looks to be something other than a knife sheath. His "Bad*ss X-Loop" sheath fits my requirements to a T. You can also use a Maxp Tac-Tie on these X-Loop sheaths to attach to molle webbing in the vertical position. Of course it also will ride horizontal with the right waist belt.
There's more to leather than just folding a piece of leather over or stacking pieces on each other and stitching it up. Fit, finish, form and function are not easy to incorporate into a sheath but Dwayne consistantly hits all the marks for me and has done so without me ever sending him any of my blades!
I had an older sheath Dwayne made that I bought second hand. I took it apart and there's a lot going on inside where the sun don't shine. He is very detail oriented when it comes to retention and very thorough.
The SJ sheath is a few years old, distressed looking from use yet fit and stitching are like new! His sheaths age well!
Here's some photos to look at to see some of Dwaynes work.
