G'day guys,
First and foremost this article is specifically about Australian knife laws but it would be great, great, GREAT to have some feedback and sharing from my international friends as this is an issue everywhere in the world and I would appreciate insights from people's experiences with more liberal knife laws or stricter in comparison to Australia's ridiculous laws.
I just wanted to get my article out there to this brilliant community. I know heaps of you will probably not find it all that interesting as you'd know about everything I'm talking about but if you wanted to give it a read and maybe share it around to get the word out that would be bloody fantastic!
The article is directed towards people who have never even thought of knife laws as an issue (yes, there is still people) but it's always nice to have some feedback and support from my home team. As you all know this is an issue that often goes forgotten in the media and we need to bring as much attention to it as possible because these laws can be changed! But it's starts with informing knife-n00bs about the laws and the wrongs that need to be righted.
Here it is! http://www.independentaustralia.net/...nife-laws,5860
Let's get the word out by first sharing, commenting, tweeting my article around and all that jazz, and I encourage all to send letters and articles to other news sites and let me know so that I can do the same!
Thanks for your time all, keep those blades sharp!

Very well written article, Zac, especially for someone your age. I'm nearly 4x yours and would have to work hard to assemble an article that well.

Note, you posted the same thread 2x. The link in the "2nd" thread does not work. In the "1st" thread with 2 links, only the bottom most link works.

Well, Zac, you may wish to start by Google-searching New York and Massachusetts knife laws and arrests. Here in Massachusetts, we have strict weapons laws concerning possession and carrying; especially strict gun laws. There are also local laws for various cities and towns (we call them local ordinances) that ban the carrying in public of knives with blades over 2.5" in length. Cities with these laws include Boston, Cambridge, Revere, Beverly, Lynn, Salem, and Marblehead. Lawrence and Worcester, to the north and northwest of Boston, also have these laws. Arrests for violations are common. My personal daily carry knife is a 4" Cold Steel "Voyager", which I carry deeply concealed in my right front trouser pocket. I am a lot older than you (53 years) and have been carrying knives since I was eight years old. Never had a problem with the police, but I know that a lot of people had. If you need specific links, please PM me and I will do my best to provide them to you.

Best Regards!

Tom
