My Awesome New Arowana, or How Allen Gets Way Too Much Of My Money

I knew I wanted an Arowana from the first time I saw one on this forum. After holding one at Blade, I was even more excited about the design. The problem was I wanted a 1/8" or 5/32" blade, and all Allen was making at the time was 3/32" slicers. I knew if I waited long enough that Allen would make my ideal blade, so I took a deep breath and put my desires on hold...

Fast forward to this weekend and I see Blade USA has a bunch of Arowanas in stock. One is 1/8" A2 with osage scales. You had me at hello! I got the knife yesterday (USA Blade has AWESOME customer service!!!). Although I have not done more than lovingly fondle it while sitting on the couch, I am pretty sure that this is going to be one of my favorite knives. Like my Fiddleback Woodsman and Bear Paw, AA Forge XL Bushcrafter and the Spyderco that was a gift from my father over 20 years ago, this Arowana is going to get used and kept for many years to come.

I am only going to post two pics now, but promise to add more pics and a review as I get more experience using the knife.

You're gonna love it!

I have one in 3/32, and another in 1/8th. I really love them both. I look for excuses to cut something up with each of them.

That's a beauty Charles. I like the golden color of the Osage and the spalting is killer on that one. Congratulations on the score and having the patience to wait for the right one.

Sweet, great score! There were 2 in Osage - I got the other one. They are both gems and in 1/8" I think it'll get more general use than the 3/32" I got a while back which is more of a kitchen duty blade (plus my wife keeps hold of it). It was hard to pass up the Cherry Bomb though....

Nice snag Charles.....three months wasn't too long of a wait for your perfect configuration.....Congrats !

We got 5 of these in and the 2 in Osage Orange are obviously gone. The Arowana is one of the best designed fixed blades I have seen or held in a long time. Allen knocked it out of the park on this one. I am hoping someone picks up the Cherry Bomb one soon as it just keeps calling my name. Then again I want to keep them all. Thanks Charles for posting this up! We have already contacted Allen about getting more of these as I know they will be easy to sell as word continues to spread.

Whiity, thank you! You consistently provide amazing customer service and are an active contributing member of the online community. Although I spend money with other dealers, most times I go to your site first. I don't even look at the price; if you have what I want, you get my business. Keep up the great work stocking Fiddleback and Allen's knives.
