This is not really a survival post...But I just wanted to know ho many of you out there have sig. others that are just awesome...My wife is really top shelf..she puts up with all my nonsence...my constant knife and gun buying sprees and my constant survival questions...She has no interest or knowledge in wilderness survival but always comes up with an answer when I throw a question at her...Just because....And to top it all off she love the outdoors, loves to learn about nature...She doesn't like camping in the rough so much but I've done several 20 + mile day hikes and numerous kayak and white water trips with her and she's a trooper...Of course she'll never read this but, and I know it sound lame but my wife us awesome...That's it.

My wife is pretty great , she puts up with me :)

we been married 14 yrs , she has put up with me starting a business and devoting time that shoulda been spent with her , with the shop , and then when I sold it all up and shut the doors to care for my father while he died , she was right there with me the whole time .

She makes HUGE effort to be peaceable and get along with my mother while she is living with us and needs 24/7 care

She doesnt complain that it takes us a week to drive across the country to see her mother , she makes huge efforts to stop her mother hating me when we do get there .

My wife will come fishing with me , tho she freaks out soemthing cruel while Im wandering around the reef in waist high water spear in one hand , spotlight in the other .... she doesnt complain about it

She comes hunting , and while she doesnt LIKE that we hunt , she doesnt LIKE it that we are so broke that its our only meat at times , she accepts it .

There have been times when things were so hard I wouldnt have blamed her for taking her mothers advice and walking away , but she has stuck by me and not considered it .

I count myself truly fortunate to have found such a girl . TO make it that bit more special what she does and has done , My wife is a bit over 17 years my senior , it takes a special woman to do what she does

My wife is my partner in all this junk...hiking, biking, hunting, being broke, being not broke and most of all sticking with me when my ethics beat down my common sense and valor.

She is great and from what I gather, she has an account here too. Don't know what it is just yet but I'll find out soon.

10 years this year! Love ya Yvette.

My wife also puts up with a ton of expenditures towards knives, and much much less towards guns, but is always very supportive and trusts that I know what I am doing. And to top it off, she finally let me get her the very first knife she has ever had other than a steak knife-- you guessed it... a Ray Cover Mother of Pearl Custom folder. How cool is that???

Im not married but have an awsome girlfreind, She doesent do anything outdoors where toilets are not at least within walking or short drive but other than that she is a real trooper, She refuses to buy me knives because every time she tries to suprise me with one I end up buying it for myself, Oh yeah and her reason for not always carrying gear is "I dont need it I have you and I know you have it" . She Goes with me to EMS Expos and Sar classes and doesent argue when I buy gear I dont really need, and she buys me Gear for birhtdays and Christmas, I cant ask for much more.

I've been married for 9 years and been with her for 14 years total now. Lately it's becoming clear that our interests and priorities are sharply diverging. Somedays I think I'm working my way towards a divorce, although due the kids I'm trying damn hard not to go there.

If you've got a woman who is even remotely interested in the things you do, hang on to her with all you've got because you're a lucky, lucky man.

Oh yeah and her reason for not always carrying gear is "I dont need it I have you and I know you have it" .

Heh! My girlfriend is the opposite; I end up buying two of lots of things because she wants her own.

You guys are right, a woman you share interests and love of life with is worth cherishing.

By God, I don't know how she's done it, but my dear wife has put up with all my BS for nearly two-thirds of my 60 years! I'm damn glad she has, too! :D

I do Every day...Thanks though!

I have been married for right at 18 years, I don't think I could exist without her. I don't want too get too mushy but I believe this picture sums it up, it is a rare woman indeed that can put up with me for 18 minutes, much less 18 years.

We got married young, 19 (her) and 23 (me). We basically grew up together. We must be doing something right for this to last 18 years so far. My marriage, when it's good it's incredible, when its bad it's still better by far than most out there, mostly because of her.

After 18 years and three kids my wife still weighs exactly what she did in college. She looks very young as well (she's 37). I on the other hand at 41 I'm going prematurely grey very fast and I've got about 10 extra pounds. When were out with our 15 year old daughter my wife is often regarded as one of the kids. Either that or people look at us as a couple and say, "Now that guy must have alot of money or something."

My wife does not do bush camping but we did manage a canoe trip in Canada that she loved. Sometimes she will push me out the door for the bush because she knows I come back better than I left. Mac

In May we will hit our 25th anniversary.
We have been from Florida to Nova Scotia, and from Maryland to California.
In Y2K we took our camper, 2 kids and a Keeshond cross country for 4 weeks straight.

We built a new home recently, and had gotten rid of our tired beat up camping trailer. (Which we lived in for about 6 months while house construction was happening).

When i mentioned a Pole building for my workshop at the new house, she said "of course!"

This winter my wife has been taking me to RV shows because she wants another camper. :D

I'm trying to weasel one that will also haul our ATVs. ;)
She just let me buy 4 new wheels and tires for my Raptor 660, which are "in transit" per UPS's tracking system, as we speak.

Camping. Travelling, boating, fishing we've done a lot.

What else can I say.

Congrats on all you guys and your women, it really helps to have a good one supporting ya. My g/f doesnt understand the knife thing but she supports it and my hobby. She hunts and fishes and cleans anything she takes(a turn on:D). She does support the buying of 1911 pistols...which gets expensive.
