Well I picked up one of Bill's DIY blades and set out to accomplish one goal, NOT to mess it up too bad! I have only the most common garage tools, so it took quite a bit of hand sanding and rudimentary methods of trying to make this work... I tried to stick with the theme of many of the Backwoods beauties. It is definitely not bills great work, but I think it came out alright, now I gotta get to making a sheath (done now, pics in post below) and then sharpen it up a bit more

Sorry about the crappy pics, I am no photographer and I was limited to indoors (I live in the state where rain was invented, and wouldn't ya know, its raining)

Started out as the blade on the far right of this picture...

and turned into this... (the crap in the edge is where the convexed edge shaved my kitchen table)

I wish man! I would love to be able to do this kind of stuff for a living, maybe someday! Now if I could just get you to grind up your "Ambush XL" pattern for me to handle, I would be one happy son of gun!

Thanks man, Nampa huh? I have some friends over that way, I would love for my wife to get stationed over at Mountain Home

Incredible work my friend, scales and sheath both.

NICE!!!! GET YOUR WIFE STATIONED OUT HERE hahaha... you really should start or join a business, you have some skill. By the time your wife gets stationed i will probably gone stationed somewhere haha.... lets hope its not off the coast of N.K. :(

Very nice and fast too! I haven't even decided what I'm going to put on mine yet.

BACK OFF Bacustoms he's mine haha..... i think we can both agree though if he can do this more, he really should be in the buisness

I/I, great looking combo. I don't know how long you have been doing this, but if all you had were the "usual garage tools", I would love to see what you could do with BA's or Chris's set-up. That pair turned out really nice.
Excellent work . . . .
Be safe.
P.S.: "IF" by chance you ever get to BA's shop, make sure he takes you to Pop's . . . . he knows . . . . :D :D

Thanks again all

Just1- this is the second knife that I have put scales on, and I have been playing with leather for about 6 months now here and there, it's fun stuff to do! I hope one day I can get ahold of some real knife working tools, but I would probably spend the first year making every knife I have ever wanted! That's a long ways don't he road though, I can only have so much garage stuff being a military family that moves every few years...

This was fun to do and I am itchin to do some more now!
