Yep...... That happened when I got the Scrapyard DogFatherLE.......... I put it in the kydex I bought with it and immediately scratched the back (no logo) side of the blade. Had grit in the sheath. Well now I know better

well, it already has a few scars from sheathing and unsheating it....

it was going to be a user anyways....i've never owned a blade that didn't have a few scratches...

after watching the destruction test on knifetest, a few scratches in the finish don't really bother me too much...
