Well, it was DEFINITELY worth the wait! Its superb. Im in the process of making a kit for the sheath in 2 Altoids type tins, one to fit in existing sheath pouch & one to go under that in a neoprene pouch I bought for 3 quid designed to hold a cellphone.
Well done, Swamp rat knifeworks, Ive not got 2 main Survival blades, the Rat & the BK9 (and the BK7, for slightly "lighter" duties! LOL)

By the way, found great containers for odds & sos to go in survival tins, some re-usable perspex drinking straws, that I cut to size and seal with little rubber end-caps that come on reels of cable to protect the bare ends of cable. (the reels of tv/rf.satellite cable are best!)

The BR is an excellent knife and a great value. Throw a SAk or folder in the pouch, and you should have 99.99% of your cutting needs met easily. Congrats.

Im actually gonna use the Skinning knife from an Aitor JK1 as a small blade (bought 3 of em, 1 each for Rat, BK9 & BK7!), and will be carrying a section of sharpened hacksaw blade in the sheath liner, but one of the tins WILL contain a SAK mini-champ.
Cant believe how cheap this blade was, with current exchange rate including shipping was less than £85.00
Great value, I gotta get one of their smaller models, too, now!

The Howling Rat is an excellent small utility knife. That's what I use as a companion for mine.

So is the Bandicoot. Heck, I don't think they make a knife that I don't like come to think of it.

Congratulations on the BR! I know how you feel, it is a very fine knife!
