About 6 months ago, my aunt visit me here in NY. She is from, Thailand, as is my father.
It is not uncommon for her to bring gifts when she visits, and although i always appreciate her kindness and sentiment, I'm not sure how much more room i have left for XXL t-shirts that are still too small for me (normally size L)
So this time around, i got ready to receive some t-shirts, when she totally surprised me and gave me an AWESOME custom folder. It was made by someone she knows locally in Bangkok and it is my only folder that is entirely handmade.
So i really don't know that much about this knife or maker. I always wanted to share some pics with you guys, so i figured i would take this opportunity to not only share some images but also ask if anyone has any info for me. I will try not to make this post too much of a review but i would like to make a few comments about this little folder.
The OAL is just about 4.75". The blade length is 1.75", and the closed length is about 2.75". The blade thickness is about 1/16".
The handle scales are made out of deer antlers, and it has steel liners on both sides. I'm not sure of the weight, but as you can imagine it's pretty darn light.
I haven't used it or carried it, so even if i wanted to get deep into a review i couldn't, but i can tell you the blade shape is very useful looking. I can also tell you that the handle shape and ergonomics of this little knife are incredible. It is easily the smallest folder i own and probably have ever handled. So it's hard for me to make comparisons. i'm sure there are some great 3 finger grip knife handles out there, but i'd be willing to bet this handle rivals any of the best.
I only have a few pics at the moment, but will likely add some more later, and would be happy to take pic requests. here they are. Thanks!
