I just wanted to show off a little! I love my Kershaws; don't mind the BM Mini-Grip at the bottom, he wanted to be in the picture too!

Nice collection! I don't see a mini-task tho. I just discovered that little gem today at the gunshop. It'll be my next Kershaw. I'm not sure of the details on this but it was a nice little wharncliffe. Z

jeremy, thanks for the support. Very sweet collection.

The uppper left one. That's called a Black Horse isn't it, or am I thinking of something else? I had one several years ago, but it disappeared. I ranked it as one of my favorite 'nail nick, lock back' knives along w/ the Buck 110.

And since Artfully Martial recommended some, I put a vote in for the Black Out. I think it's one of the most over looked but nice Kershaws. Probably cause WalMart sells it and people think anything from WalMart isn't worth having. But I really like them. I like the size of it and being AO just adds to the fun factor.

Nice collection.

It's actually a Black Horse II. It was my first Kershaw (first real knife for that matter) from 2002. I never knew a knife could come from the factory so SHARP! Its obviously been used but cared for, but I was never into collecting knives until I came across the Ken onion knives in May of this year.

At Wal-Mart of all places, the clerk recommended the Leek above all else. Up till then I just carried a buck knife or a case knife like my Grandpa did. But when I pushed the Index-open flipper for the first time, and the knife almost jumped out of my hand, and I heard the satisfying and addicting THWACK that all of the KENshaws have, I was hooked! :D

I bought two Leeks, my tanto Blur, a Storm (gift), and a scallion. My Onion collection has grown to exceed the knives you see above, and I just grabbed a ZDP Leek from a spoiled member who had TWO! (Thanks again Barker)

I think Kershaw is in a class of its own with regards to customer service and knife quality and as long as they keep employing hard-working Americans to produce American-made knives, I will be a customer for life!

Does anyone else have a tough time deciding which Kershaw to carry that day?:)

Sometimes I carry a large and a small knife, like the Spec Bump and a Leek, or the Large Cyclone and a Scallion.

Guess there are worse decisions to have to make, huh...

Have you noticed a difference in edge holding between the Spec and speed bumps?

I haven't carried the Speed Bump since I went to the Lake for the Fourth of July. I kept it on while I fished, SWAM, cut steak, cut nylon tether, etc...and the Speed Bump is still Shaving Sharp! Plus, all my friends thought the knife was really sweet!

Part of me wants to swap blades with the Spec-Bump (My current EDC) because I prefer an uncoated blade, but I love the S30V too much! :)

I would love a Spec Bump with an uncoated S30V Blade, but Kershaw has enough stuff on their plate right now...

Long story short: I have only used the Speed Bump for an extended period of time once; but I think Sandvic 13c26 is a very underrated steel that will really start to catch on.

Zealot,

I just love my Random Task, one of the first out the door, and you can almost count "one-one thousand, two-one thousand.." while the "speed? safe" mechanism did it's work! Gotta love it.

BTW: There's a Leek on ebay if anyone wants to pay the premium being asked by the seller: Item number: 170018955270

Cheers,

Model 1500 , ATS34 Blade, Polished G10 handles and what appears to be a Left hand model which is hard to come by. These were one of the first Ken Onion's along with it's big brothers the 1510 Random Task and the 1520 Ricochet. Very Nice knives and Highly collectable. You gotta love Kershaw !!!!!!

Not only did I get my two ZDP Leeks yesterday, but I also got three knives back from Kershaw that I sent in for various repair/resharpening. I case you are new to this forum, let me tell you how awesome Kershaw Customer Service is...

Not only did they resharpen my two Scallions, but they replaced the Torsion Bars, so now they snap open like they did when they were brand new!

My Cyclone's On/Off switch did not work so I sent it in too. My knife's blade also had a few spots of rust near the spine, but was hardly noticeable. I just wanted the On/Off switch fixed. Well, when I got the knife back today, I noticed that the Cyclone was brand new!!! Wow!

Now I am NOT suggesting that you will get a new knife if you send in your old one, but to this day, every experience I have had with Kershaw has been OUTSTANDING!:D

Pretty good Mail day yesterday! I got two ZDP Leeks, a New Cyclone, two scallions, and an insurance refund check!

Yes, I would say Kershaw has outstanding customer service. Not only honoring their warranty fully but also in stepping up and communicating with their customers. Keep it up guys!

I just got a very slightly used large Cyclone off of ebay in the mail today, my first Kershaw, and the on/off thumbwheel is the only disappointment in the knife so far. You really have to work it to get it to move. Other than that, I really like this knife. I wonder if loosening up the screw right next to the thumb wheel and hitting it with a drop of oil will make it easier to use?

Triumph, if you can be without your new toy for a couple of weeks, send the Cyclone in to Kershaw. I guarantee you will be happy with the knife you get back! You can even have them resharpen it to SCARY Sharp. Read my post a couple above. I am certainly a happy camper, and I had the same problem you're having. Good Luck and start saving for the 1630TiZDP! That's right, a ZDP Cyclone! :)

I think I am going to hustle my wife for a Spec-Bump for Christmas. That thing is wicked looking!

This is my EDC gear! I thought I would alternate between the ZDP Leek and the Spec Bump, but I can't, so I carry BOTH:cool:

God Bless Kershaw and the USA!

Thanks Jeremy. I'm not sure if this Cyclone will replace my recently bought Lone Wolf T1 as my EDC. So far I prefer the Rosewood over the anodized aluminum on the Cyclone. I'll have to carry it around for a week or two to find out if the Cyclone fits the bill. I could carry more than one knife like you do, but for me 2 knives are plenty, plus I have my Swiss tool on my motorcycle. My 2nd knife is a cheapo Buck 373 in case someone I wouldn't trust implicitly wants to borrow my knife.

Just looking at your gear, I've wondered how hard it is to sharpen those Bumps. I use a couple of waterstones and a strop with some Lee Valley green compound on my knives, but I'm by no means a proficient sharpener. I'm afraid that Bump would leave me perplexed. :)
