What a little beauty. I can see using this ALL the time. Beckers quality never ceases to amaze me, this tiny knife has all the same heavyweight quality "heft" to it as its bigger brothers (I have a BK7 & BK9, too!).
Im intending to carry this as a neck knife, and would be interested to hear how any other forum members carry theirs & any mods thay've made? I read somewhere on the forums of a guy who's rubberised the grip with spray-on tool handle stuff. Dunno if we have that over here, but I like the idea. IF Im gonna use as a neck knife, I guess I should put it on a breakaway cord, do you guys use beaded chain (is it called parachain?) perhaps in a paracord sheath?
Any comments would be very welcome.
Thanks.

For most of the "light duty" stuff I've used the Becker Necker for, the plain old handle is fine. A lot of folks have cord wrapped theirs. Its easy and makes the handle more comfortable and gives you some cord should you need it. You can also take it off. If you do a search here, you can find a thread about a company that will put G10(?) handles on your knife and remove the coating, etc. for modifications. But that costs as much as the knife itself.

Congrats on a great little knife. Its one of my favorites!

Its a new favourite of mine. Wore it as a neck knife to Pizza Hut & back, and it was very unobtrusive. The sheath is very well made & holds the blade well in inverted carry, and the Paracord (Im guessing it's REAL paracord!) supplied with it is top quality too, gotta get me a roll of THAT. Need to replace all the phoney paracord in my various kits with some of this stuff. I found a little nylon belt pouch that holds a Leatherman Micro clone, and may put that on the sheath to hold a basic PSK, perhaps a spark-rite, vas/cotton balls & photon-type torch (Sorry, Flashlight!)

I've been looking at the Becker Necker for a while now, what's holding me back is I dont know if the handle is good enough. I find as I've gotten more experienced with knives I've gotten pickier about having really comfy handles.

Can you give us some measurements of the Necker's handle, length & width? Maybe post some pics of how it fits in your hand (as compared to other knives)?

It looks like it'd be pretty easy to cord-wrap the handle, or even make some handle slabs and mount them using the screw-holes provided.

(Here is a good post describing how to post pics.)

Glad to hear you got a little necker. I got one a month ago and I wanted a fat handle for it to have a custom fit knife for whittling so I made one out of stabilized maple buckeye.
I stripped the coating with Nitromors and then sanded like a madman. I used black spacer material and stainless steel bolts and I also reshaped the choil and filled in the bottle opener space with a piece of brass. I hope the pictures show up.
Feel free to let me know what you think as this was my first custom project.:D

My Becker Necker is one of my favourite knives, and it has become a part of my Every Day Carry setup. I have cord wrapped the handles, with the cord contoured to the skeletonized handle parts, rather than all the way around the handle. It is comfortable to hold and work with this way, and faily decent looking as well.

Nice purchase,

Soup monger - Very Nice! I've been thinking about what to do with mine and I like your project!

I had considered dipping the handle in some plastic tool dip product.

We're putting threads about modifying knives in the new Toolshed forum now, to make it easier for people to find the threads they're interested in.

Soupmonger, you know all you have to do now is start grinding blades and you'll be a knifemaker.

Thanks for the explanation Cougar Allen.
I think I may have hijacked this thread, so apologies to StuToffee who actually started it.
Hope you have found the pictures interesting though Stu.
