Hey guys,

I had some free time today so I figured I'd take some pictures of my belt/fire pouch. I made it with some help from you guys on here and using some of my own stuff that I already had.

The pouch is a Maxpedition Barnacle with the following contents:

Flint
Striker for the flint
Char cloth
Fatwood
Tinder fungus
Jute tinder
Victorinox Farmer
Fallkniven DC3 sharpener
Tin containing 8 water purification tablets
Wrench for RAT5 handle.

I also have my old Army canteen that has my issued stainless cup with it, I also bought a stove that fits in the pouch as well, and I braided three-7 foot strands of 550 cord in it for a sort of sling that I could use in an emergency. I also stuffed as much paracord as I could in the pouch on the front of the canteen pouch (not pictured). The RAT5 has a sheath coming from OST that has a loop for my firesteel as well. Feel free to critique my setup (I encourage it).

All packed up, with some room to spare.

That's a great little kit! I really like Maxpedition gear and those barnacle pouches are a useful size. Good choice of stuff as well. I would probably add some duct tape and/or sticking plasters for when I slice myself up.

I'm curious about the wrench for the RAT5. Do the bolts loosen easily?

Thanks for posting; it's always good to see other people's kit.

Cheers,
Rick

I like also. Agree about adding a little duct tape. Wrap it around (length-wise) one of those fake credit cards or hotel room key. Throw in an overbag and few micropur tabs and you are covered if you lose your water bottle too.

Nice little kit. I have the Maxpedition M2 pouch and like it a lot.
Here's an old pic with my Becker7, which now has the micarta grips and I've added a compass and MP1 purification tabs, as well as a silk bandana to the pouch.
