My stock 550HG had been relegated to standby since I have gotten a Spyderco PM2, but recently I saw and bought a set of G-10 Igorded scales on the forum here that someone ordered but ended up having no use for it, so soon as it arrives, on it goes, and after some customizing, my 550HG has fought it way back to my pocket :)

I had to file down the back standoff to accommodate the lower tip of the SF blade.

That's one cool 550. I have 6 550's and would love scales like that. Where does one buy custom scales? Any where besides e bay? I don't really like shopping on e bay.
 
Nice. I think there should be a health warning attached to Igorded scales. Since I put it on,I have been opening and closing my 550 way too much just to hear the sound, causing repetitive strain injury. It's like a new knife.
 
Very nice looking. One of these days I'll have to put some of those custom scales on my Grip.
 
I would love some custom scales for my 550, just sucks that they cost as much as, or more than the knife itself. If there is somewhere I can get a set for less than $60-80 let me know.

Bladescales.com He is in the US and mine cost me $75 shipped.

Here are two he made in G-10 for my full sized Ritters. Love them.
