I got the SOD a few weeks ago and I am extremely impressed at the versatility of this blade. The edge was a little rough when I got it but I took some steel off and have it near a convex new and spooky sharp :D

For me the sheath is just as important as the knife and with the SOD being my primary blade I had to make a good setup for it.

I started with an awesome azwelke pancake sheath and an ESEE molle back. The holes werent drilled to match so I screwed the molle back in on one side and then hockey taped it around in 3 spaces which gives it a ridiculously secure fit. I then mounted molle locks on the front and cord wrapped it with about 20 feet of 550. I used some more cord to attach the front pouch and there you have it. An exeptionally versatile and comfortable sheath :D

Im planning on getting another front pouch and mounting two of them horizontally so I can carry a multi tool and or mini grip as well as the other stuff.

one ferro rod, one flick striker, waterproof matches, q tips, super glue, nail clippers, a cheap sharpener (need to get an fine ceramic stone) and a whistle/compass/ thermometer.

Do you actually wear that,or just trying to see how much stuff you can hook up to a sheath ?

I like it! :thumbup:

...What do you estimate the entire set-up (excluding knife) cost you? Also, what brand is the pouch?

K, like the setup. I carry a DFLE or B11 in a LMIW sheath with all kinds of stuff crammed in it and I like having enough stuff to make it if I needed it.

Its a ESEE pouch. The setup is a bit heavy but Im used to heavy blades so it doesnt bother me. I like knowing that I have everything I need in there and its great for when you just want to take a quick hike to be able to have all the little stuff you need all in one package.

Ive tried tek lock/ baldric/ molle locks etc for this size knife but I like drop leg like this the best.

and I think for the setup somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 for the sheah, 45 for the molle, 25 for the pouch 12 for molle locks and then all the little gadgets are probably and extra 20. But most of the stuff I had just laying around.

Very nice!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

...I would like to do something similar for my user HR.

Lookin' good! :thumbup:

A bit hefty, but you said you're used to that and it doesn't look too heavy at all for a quick hike. :cool:
