I used to collect a bunch of folders along with fixed blades but I've recently realized that I'm a fixed blade guy at heart. So I'm selling off my folders and acquiring fixed blades that flip my lid. Here are my three big boys at the moment.
At the top is my new (today) Medford Tactical Service Tanto. 14" overall with a 7.55" blade. D2 steel thats .260 thick. My dealer just got their first shipment of Medfords in and we went through them all today. Just fantastic blades! I went in thinking that I was going to get the Praetorian or the Emperor but this knife just knocked me out right away.
The middle knife is a Busse BATAC that I purchased from a member here and it's still my favorite blade. It's a fatty and there's just something about the heft, balance and overall feel that I love about this knife. The Medford Emperor would have to go toe to toe with this blade and I just know that the BATAC would win for me. If the Emperor had a bigger handle it would have been close but then the Busse is INFI and that's the only steel that I like more than D2.
The bottom knife is the Ontario Ranger Series Afghan with the massively thick S7 blade. This thing is blocky and obnoxious but I love it that way. #69 out of 126 and found used but still clean. A friend sharpened the living snot out of it and it's definitely a favorite!
