I've decided to order a couple of US knives before the Euro is pulled down to hell by the Greeks, Italians and Spanish.

I have a feeling that the dollar will do a lot better than the Euro in the near future, so now is the time to get some of thos blades I've had my eye on for a while.

There are a couple of CS blades on my list, big folders mostly.
Yeah, I know they're made in Asia, but they are the cheapest in the US.
You pay over a hundred Euro for a Spartan when you buy it here.

So, CS:
Espada XL
Voyager clip point XL

Spyderco (my EDC brand)
Endura (waved)

And then I'm thinking something really high -quality.
Have my eye on the Benchmark Onslaught.

But I'm open for suggestions: great American folding blades, anyone?

Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

Are you only looking at folders? For something high end, you may look at what Spyderco knives are offering that is really high end and legal for your country. A Sage in Titanium is a possibility. A Military in Titanium. Hogue makes a really nice, overbuilt folder. As does Zero Tolerance.

Spyderco:
Sage2
Military in Ti awesome knife
Native5
Des Horn

ZT:
0551
0303
0350ZDPCB this is an amazing knife, absolutely love it

Benchmade:
Subrosa Ti Monolock
MPR
AFCK in M390 you will love this thing

Only the most iconic American knife ever...drumroll please..........BUCK 110!!! Not my personal favorite, but so American it would wear a touristy shirt and demand things in a foreign country :D

For sure take a look at some of ZT's folders, those are nice knives to have. Oh, and if you have any interest in a fixed blade check out ESEE

Buck 110, ZT200, older USA Cold Steel SRK, Swamprat Ratmandue, Buck 119, and of course a Traditional slipjoint of some sort ( Case is hard to beat for the money).

Case knife of some sort, Benchmade MPR, Spydie Leafstorm, Sebenza if you don't have one already/ have the money.

Spyderco Military, Paramilitary 2, or Gayle Bradley
Buck 110 (upgrade with a custom from the Buck custom shop, S30V blade and a choice of nice handles)
Benchmade 710 or 581

If you like traditional slipjoints, look at Great Eastern Cutlery

"Iconic" American Knives:

You can get original USA-made Schrade Old Timer pocketknives for reasonable prices in secondary markets. Finding a seller willing to ship overseas might be a hassle though.
The Buck 119 and Buck 110 are other all-time favorites in the USA.
Some Case knives are pretty nice. Not as "iconic" but better quality in general, Canal Street Cutlery. The Schatt and Morgan File and Wire series from Queen is excellent.

Interested in hunting knives or traditional fixed-blades? I'm a fan of Bark River, Northwoods, Blackjack, and many of the custom makers seen here in the For Sale by Maker forum section.

Into more modern knives, perhaps could be considered "modern icons": Benchmade, Kershaw, and Spyderco all come to mind.

Don't overlook some of the larger survival/outdoor -style knives that are American favorites on the forums here: ESEE, Becker, KaBar, Ontario (especially the Ranger series).

How about iconic Canadian knives? The DH Russell - Grohmann knives are classics up there.

Get the Rajah 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or 2 if yo u cant afford 1...They are amazing. I took the rajah 2 to the Honduran jungle this past summer. It cuts like a champion!

Buck 110. Maybe a cqc 13. Perhaps you're into strider and Sebenza territory?

To sum up my tastes:

I like:
High quality tactical folders
Totally insane fighting folders.
Historical classics (own the USMC KA-BAR, for instance)
Classic bowie (probably won't use it, but as a collector's item)
Modern Bowies

Just found out about Kershaw factory seconds, any idea where I can get those on-line?
That would stretch my budget quite a bit further.
