Finally made a "Big" one - for me thats 8" & up. I was inspired by some recent posts of Camp knives and decided to take the plunge. I call this my BUSH BUDDY. It has a bunch of technical who-ha thrown in, for the sake of executing a variety of so-called high-performance features on one knife. The profile is just a generic camp knife style. Had to restrain myself from putting a sharpened clip on it ! ;)

Tested twice prior to finishing. Chopped 2 2x4's (accidentally used Oak instead of pine) & still shaved. For those wondering, I've not found the need to use anything under 59RC on O-1 - tough as nails. I have never had edge chipping / breakage at that hardness and my smaller knives are more up in the 60-61Rockwell range.

Now I need to make a 10incher. To avoid clogging the thread, I've posted links to the technical and detail pics as the shots are quite detailed. Thanks for looking and comments appreciated, esp. about the technical stuff. Jason.

This knife looks like it is a top notch chopper. The handle looks very well shaped and I love the blade. A pretty big blade to put a modified Price grind on. I bet it was a bit of a job.

That dual finish handle looks superb.

Looks hefty. An eight-incher takes some getting used to. But ultimately, it may prove to be a winner.

:)

i LIKE it!
:)
I like the thumbramp / filework, and that mild recurve always catches my eye- perfect for a chopper/slicer. The handle looks simple and comfortable, too. Bravo. :)

Mr Keninshiro, why do you want such a big knife for? There's not enough space on your belt or at the small of your back for such a blade!! :D :D

fantastic!!

I'd love to take that bad boy into the woods for a few days,

mmmmmmmmuuuuuuuuuuuuuhaa haaaa ha
