Becker knives truly do "Work for a living" I had the pleasure of putting my bk-7 through some backyard tests and boy was I impressed. I spent saturday batoning through some HARD oak logs. I have had laying around in the yard for the grill and firepit, and the results were amazing.

The tasks I put it through were sometimes a bit much for a 7 inch blade, I probably had to use a bit more energy than if I was rockin a bk-9, but it can do the job. The edge was in excellent shape when I was finished, and my baton was constantly beating on the tip of the knife (since the logs had a large girth).

There was one small hitch but it was mainly a fault of the user. I managed to get my knife pretty much lodged into a monster of a log and started to beat on the handle of the knife with my baton. The log had such a hold on the bk-7 that when I hit the thing you could feel it vibrate. The hex screws on the handle pretty much came undone and the handle was very loose, but this was easily remedied and was made good as new just minutes later. (Side note....I like how easy it is to remove the handles).

Amazing value...I want a bk-9 now for the ability to work with bigger logs and to minimize some of the work involved.

I think one of the things that I love so much about Becker knives is how they scream "Use me!".

Edit: Doh....Typo in the title.... GO ME!

Great comments. I love how these knives are priced for the working man.

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on a few of these. If these Ka-bar versions are as good as the Camillus variants, and I think that they will be, this will end up being big.

For some reason, the Beckers weren't as popular as they should have been until they were gone from the market.

Once people couldn't get them as easily, their market share skyrocketed and they were pulling in double and triple their MSRP.

Couple that with this new forum and Ka-Bar's popularity and I personally think something big will come of this.

I love the Becker 7 more than any other fixed blade I can think of.

I liked my first BK7 so much, I bought 2 more before the supplies dried up from the last round. What a Workhorse.

I plan to double-up on all the patterns as finances allow. Someday the grandchildren will be in awe at the quality of knives we have available today.

BK7is my 2nd favorite of the BK line. I bought one for my brother right before Camillus passed away.

Here's mine:

The Beckers are indeed a very good "bang for the buck." Sold my last one some time ago, but I feel the urge to get another. This thread is not helping. LOL

I want one so bad, I need a large survival blade so then I can focus on folders.

haha, I'm actually on the other side of that fence. Ive got PLENTY of folders. I'm in the fixed blade wagon now. I've always had my USMC KABAR, Buck Nighthawk, and old Taiwan BM Rant Bowie. Recently, I got a KA BAR Camp Knife, a Rat RC4, and in the near future, an RC3, Izula, BK2, BK7, new Rant DPT, and probably a BK11 and 9

"Priced for the working man"--I like that; that could be Becker's motto, something like: "priced for the working man and outworks him too". I love the BK9 I bought a couple months ago. I have used it for chopping, batoning and firemaking and the knife is a real good friend already.
Right now I can't think of a better knife for me. I have my eye on another one (backup) or maybe just go down a notch to the BK7. And I already have the BK11 in San Mai. But I want the Campanion bad too. I've got it:

"Priced for the working man, so buy them all" :D

1 hardly ever go out in my backyard without my old becker#7 just love this knife.

cold warm rain or shine in my backyard my old BK7 is at my side.
I used it this summer when putting up a privacy fence, when on the last two peices two cut down to size, the battery to the skill saw died.
the BK7 riped it up nails and all, there not the prettiest but there behind
the garage.
this year it's all about the new BK9 it will be here next week.:D

They're great knives. I just picked up a BK-7 which is marked as a 2nd, but who cares? Also just got a tan BK-9 that came with a matching tan kydex sheath.

i loved mine until my bro got sent to the desert and i sent it with him. he's a big dude and not too gentle with things and it served him very well. if it was a fancy high dollar piece i never would have been able to afford one, let alone send it off. great tool
