For my first post 'round these parts, I thought I'd introduce my Beckers - a BK11 and a BK16. I stripped the blade half of the knife on each, and they have since taken on a pretty nice, fairly even patina. These are my primary knives for camping, hiking, backpacking, hunting trips, and pretty much everything else. They've cleaned game, cut cordage, whittled sticks, prepped food, opened packages, started fires, spent time in the kitchen, and time in the garage. Every time I use either knife, I come away happy with the result. There's not much more I can ask of a knife!
Some day I want to get the micarta scales for them both, but for now I work with what I have -- factory optional brown grivory scales on the BK16, and the textured coating on the BK11. I wrapped it in paracord to see if that helped the grip situation, but the answer ended up being "not really", so off it came.
Scales (or lack thereof) aside though, these are the best knives for the money in my opinion. I have an entire workbench full of knives that I no longer use since I bought these! haha, in fact a lot of them will probably end up on eBay or something at some point soon so I can pick up the Micarta scales, and possibly another Becker or several!
