Used my BK11 to clean a turkey on Saturday, sorry no in progress pics as I was by myself and didn't want to get blood all over my phone.

The BK11 was simply great at cutting off the wings and legs, it was really nice to have that substantial blade for those chores. My jimping needs to be made wider and more smooth as it was a pain to clean out.

Now I need to change the handle wrap... time for a new style anyway.

I used my new BK14 two weeks ago to clean my turkey. I only had the knife two days before it got all bloody. Love my BK's.

How'd you catch/kill it? God, turkeys look so much better when covered in butter and baked in an oven or deep fried. Some may get all touchy/feely and talk about the intrinsic beauty of nature but seriously, those are ugly birds. The head and neck look like a technicolor scrotum.

Hell yeah, not that's what I'm talkin' 'bout. Is that triple, or double? Me thinks ya combed that beard, for a triple :D

Gawd, I wish I could've went out fowl blastin', between work, and the kids, no hunting for me. :(.

O well, great pics, great bird, and great knife. Well put to use. Next time, throw a couple of shots of the dressed out bird, with the knife, that would make Ethan like you more. :D

Thanks everyone. There are plenty of ways to kill a turkey, this one just happened to get shot with a 12 gauge mossberg right after the first light of the morning. I debated on whether or not to take more pictures of the processing, however I wasn't sure how they might be perceived when posted on the forum. I was also by myself making that much harder.
It has 3 beards and the spurs were 1 1/2, and 1 3/8... biggest bird I've ever harvested.

The most important bit of information, Cubed, Bacon Wrapped, marinated in French dressing and grilled, that is the BEST way to prepare a wild turkey. Clear glass and 4 cubes of ice is the best way to prepare THE Wild turkey!

Do you breast it out or skin it and try to use the whole bird? I ask because I'm a fledgling turkey hunter and it may well be that one day, one of my arrows will intersect one. :p

I do enjoy a good turkey sandwich or fried turkey at Thanksgiving. I don't hunt though, so can you explain to me why three beards are good? I've got one beard, and it's all I need. But I suppose turkeys need more than that. And feel free to post all the processing images you like. It's good to know where food comes from.

I've alway thought Mossberg turkey tasted best. You know how to clean an 835 don't you? Shoot it straight up in the air three times and lay it on the ground in front of you. It will be at waist height and easier to work on......:D Nice bird!

Kahn, I skin the whole thing out and take as much as possible tis some good chewin,

Paws, The beards are just a way to measure the size/age of the bird, much like the antlers on a deer.
And I haven't grilled any yet... been raining here since Saturday. Hopefully this weekend I'll have some drooling material to post.

Trade, They do kick like a mule specially with 3 1/2 inch 4 shot, but I didn't know you had to clean em. j/k

Dude... it took me about 10 minutes to understand that one. Nice, old man :)
