Nice work, like what you did with the blade, the micarta looks great, I think the way you left the power coat works well with what you did with the rest of the knife. I got a BK2 a few weeks back and am in the process of modifing it. Worked on belt sanding the ghost G10 handles today. Beckers beg for mods and we will oblige!

Thanks!

It was fun. I will say that the coating was a BIT#CH to get off! I didn't have any remover so I did it by hand and then worked my way up the grits from 320 up to 2000. Then I used boiling cider vinegar for the patina. THAT is an effective way to get the metal to react, couldn't believe how fast it worked. Then I cut the plastic cover off one of my kids notebooks from last year for the liners. The kind that is that thin, semi rigid plastic.

Just waiting on some new diamond stones from KME so I can continue to work the edge. The geometry at the tip was ALL off from the factory. Way too thick.... The rest of the edge will just melt through phone book paper.

That looks great, I like how the liners really pop out, nice contrast with the rest of the knife.

Patina was boiling cider vinegar. It smells awful, but works VERY fast. really have to watch the time in the solution, the longer it goes the darker it gets.

Liners were from the front of a "5 star" notebook with the semi rigid covers in orange.

I know its not a Becker, but I just did another knife of mine today, its an ESEE Candiru. This time it was a full strip, yellow mustard patina, green liners, logos etched, scales dyed and hand filed...

Not the best pics AND not a Becker... forgive me fellow Beckerheads!

Good work man. I don't have an 11, but if I did I reckon it'd look like yours.

Hello Mr. Becker!

Yes the Candiru is an interesting little blade. For my EDC purposes I tend to favor small fixed blades (less to go wrong) hence my primary carry is the BK11. The Candiru is used only when I must neck carry a knife as I have a low threshold for stuff around my neck.

Since I have you here, how's about a BK11 in D2 or A2 steel!?!? THAT would be the cats back side of a blade!

Thanks for the post, take care-

Drew
