Months ago, with my CRKT M16 looking long in the tooth, I began my search for a new knife -a fixed blade. I did my research, had a few bumps in the road (a CS GI Tanto is NOT an EDC -even in Louisiana), and settled upon the BK 14. I think I made the right choice. This is the most capable every-day knife that I have ever owned, and it stays sharp! After 3 months of owning the knife, I've removed the blade coating, forced a patina, and ordered an awesome kydex sheath from AZWelke. The last piece of my puzzle will fall into place when Becker releases those orange and black scales I've been hearing so much about. Thanks to everyone who has posted replies when I've asked for recommendations.

Nice, I have a very similar set up. How long did your sheath take to 'break in'? The retention on mine is super (too) good.

I just got it in yesterday actually. And my thumb is nearly blistered from sliding the blade in and out. But I hear that Kydex loosens over time. I warmed it up a little and got the blade moving out acceptably. Better that the sheath arrive too tight than too loose.

"a CS GI Tanto is NOT an EDC"

LOL!! I have one of those too!

Since when does Al put a branding on his kydex, looks cool!

Looks nice! I'm carrying mine in the back pocket every day and haven't found much reason to go back to a folder, unless I'm wearing dress pants.

Nice knife. Good setup you got there.

I think the release of the orange scales might push me over the edge on getting a 14 to go with my 11. Cool sheath too!

Nice set up. The BK14 is a special knife :) It feels great in the hand!
Glad to hear you like the sheath!
Thanks for sharing the pics!
Al
