Hey guys,Dkibb here.Ive been a becker owner for about a year and a member of the forum for a few months. This is my first thread.I purchased my BK2 before i left for army basic training, when i got home i used the crap out of it,so eventually the coating started to wear,so after seeing some videos of people stripping the paint and using a patina to prevent corrosion i decided to do the same.
Down the road a bit i had been looking for a companion to my 2,i needed a smaller blade for everyday practical use as well as a good bush craft knife so i opted for the bk11,again i stripped it and gave it a nice patina.
I wanted some micarta handle to put on them but decided to wait because i had plans for a BK9 in the future,so i went out and bought some OD green non-reflective spray paint for the bk2 handles and bk11 neck sheath, the first try looked great but scratched easy,so i bought plastic primer, thined the paint with acetone and sanded the plastic to get a bit better of a painting surface.they look pretty cool for now until i get some micarta or cocobolo scales (i have a budget,my fiancee will kill me if i spend too much lol).
A few days ago i pulled the trigger on the bk9,it too has been stripped,patina-ed and painted.
Ill post some pictures when i find my camera cord haha
BK7 is next
