After one year, I finally got around to buying myself a bk2. I bought my father in law one first for Christmas. (lucky guy) Any help with loosing the sheath? It's a little too tight to get the knife out. Any carrying tips? Besides the sheath, I have not stopped playing with the knife. It's perfect!

I'm a Becker noob too and I know the more you pull the knife in and out the sheath will loosing up

Thanks tank. I'll continue playing with it. Do you happen to know if a tek lock would work on the sheath?

congrats.. yeah really no special trick, it just seems to loosen up a bit in time.. forget about it and before you know it, its no longer there.. :D

welcome to the Beckerhood...

Speaking of tight, my new BK2 is super tight in the sheath, i went icefishing the other day and WOW it got so tight in the cold i had to slide it forward and pull with all i had to get it out. I think its crying for a nice leather set o pants.:D.
O Moose, got any leather layin round???

Welcome to the Becker forums and Blade forums guys. The sheath will loosen up over time, and they have been changed since I bought my last one (I got a few in today, :D) They have flattened out the thumb ramp on the sheath. If you have to, you can take a hair dryer (NOT HEAT GUN) and warm it up and flex it a little if you must.

isn't the BK2 is already discontinued? so difficult for me to get one of them, so congratulations to you ...

Questions like that are better left to PM's and emails. Don't ask that on the discussion forums, or you will win an infraction.

Sorry you think so.

Moose

lol

no way in hell your sheath is too expensive! I was trying to keep it exclusive for myself. cant wait to see the final product

Heat a little at a time and keep flexing and testing. You get that stuff too hot, and you can have a mess on your hands.

You've likely never tried to make a leather sheath and see how many hours of work goes into a good one. I buy quite a few from Dwayne Puckett, and I always think I'm getting a screaming deal, based on the quality and the sweat that went into it. Even if you just figure on a rock bottom professional wage of $25/hour, you begin to realize why you pay for a good sheath. I don't own a Moose-made sheath, but I bet he puts in as much or more labor.

Okay, I just saw your second post, but I'm still going to let my reply stand for those who think a good leather sheath ought to be $20.

WOW!
If anyone knows were I can buy a good leather sheath for $20.00 you better post that link fast.

its not going to happen........

I used to hang in the Busse forum a good bit. Those knives, of course, don't come with a sheath, so unless you make your own, you tend to get on good terms with a sheath maker. Dwayne made me a couple of customized sheaths, and of course, I posted up pics of them and continued to do so when his work came up. The distinguishing detail is the overlay work and the simple outline engraving. Dwayne's gotten so many requests for this style that he's naming it "The Guyon." Look for it next time he updates his site. :D

BTW, neither sheath was $20. :p

Hey Essesavvee.....

She will get easier to use.....I love my MOOSE sheath.....There is a reason that there are no GOOD inexpensive leather sheaths........I have never understood the economics of the big sheath guys but, as an amateur (in the WORST sense of the word )I know it is a tough to be good and fast........Decent leather ain't cheap either........

All Best.....
