of all the attention that my BK7 & BK9 are getting from a custom sheath maker. She was calling to me, so naturally, i had to give in. Now she is truely mine forever. With all this talk of jimping, stippling & sheath making, she got the whole 9 yards. Not pretty, not perfect, but man do i love the results. Totally what i want now. Pure functionality.

This is my sheath swivel mod. I bought some steel rod at the hardware store & bent it up to make my own custom width D-ring. Then used a belt keeper (any Police/Corrections supplier). I would only use double snap ones. You can wear it stock as well, just drop the D-ring to the bottom & remove the belt keeper. If you need it lower, use 2 belt keepers snapped together.

This is my stippling job. Not as pretty as some, but it now grips my palm like sandpaper. If it is too abrasive, i can sand it down later. If i wear gloves, it will be a non-issue. :D If you look close, you can see i put my initials in the handle as well.

This is the other side, also with my initials. Lying on top of my map, for the WNY Knife gathering.

This is my jimping. Not pretty, but it works. I am still looking for a machine shop to do some professional jimping on a lot of my knives & maybe clean this one up a bit. So, what do you think ????

Groovy mods, brother. Looks like you're makin' it yours, and doin' good.

nice work man. never get tired of seeing the time-tested jimping technique of "fix knife in vise, close eyes, and toss grinder at blade until jimps are done." that stippling must have taken forever.

I like the way you put your initials on there. You don't really see them unless you look for them, nice.

No knife in vise at all. Just removed the handles & used one of these dohickey's http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/woodburning-tool-with-5-tips-408096/
Only took me about 1/2 hr- 45 min. ONCE TURNED TO THE ON/HEAT POSITION, DO NOT TOUCH THE TIP FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER---EVEN AFTER YOU THINK IT HAS COOLED OFF. :o See blister below. LOL :o

It feels like there is no way it will ever slip out of my hand now, regardless if wet, bloody, ect.. I REALLY like it.
