My BK9 arrived and I already refinished it! What a beast!

Made an excellent trade for this. It arrived in the kydex with the micarta but was bare metal, showed alot of use and had some rust speckles. I polished it down to a 000 steel wool shine and then hot vinigar patina, 3 dips and polished it back out between each dip. Slapped it on my KO Worksharp at 20° to 3000 grit and man is it a razor, the hairs on my arm ran in fear before the edge even touched them! I soaked the screws in panther piss, PB Blaster to be exact and then cleaned them well and applied blue locktite. I'm contemplating getting some slotted stainless hardware and thinking about either strapping it to one of my packs or figuring out a belt carry system. Anyone have any good recommendations on belt carry. Being a taco style sheath my teklocks would probably ride to far over for vertical carry, and its too dang long for scout. Maybe a strap type or dangler? Anyways, I'm in love and made it mine!

Thanks guys! That paracord method may be just the ticket, and it would keep it on my weak hand side away from my holster.

Check out the universal kydex extension made by forum member chiral grolem.... I might have misspelled the last name, but I think it would solve your belt carry issue.

Btw nice looking 9, amazing what that ko work sharp can do.

I was going to say the same thing. One of our BH brothers, Silver Needle was just gifted one and it's an upgraded version. The only thing is that you'll find that the UKEs mounting holes look a little closer together than the eyelets on your sheath. Anyway, check it out. Here's a link:

These guys like to hang out over in the Survive! Knives room. They have a very friendly and chilled little section of the building. I quite often go and relax next to their fireplace. Silver Needle is a chief!

Cool! That's my old 9! I put the divots in the forward side of the thumb ramp and made the sheath.
I set it up with a great carry system. I wonder what the next owner did with it.
Your refinishing job looks excellent!

That's it! He broke the system up he said. I'm contemplating piggybacking it again as well

I sent him an email, fell in love with his work as soon as I saw it. Going to order Fri, pending his response.

Gonna order one up asap. The hole spacing is at 1.5" so I can drill a hole dead center between the riveted holes and be all set. Thanks!

And great job on this sheath! Very nice retention, very thick and sturdy. What thickness is this kydex, .090? Were you the first owner or does this have many many stories behind it? The knife I mean?

Thanks! I am the original owner and I did all the mods to it before you got it. I used the thick stuff on that one for sure, but I can't remember what thickness it was.
