The only thing Ive done to the knife was light sand the scales and some of the blade to take off the bumps.
I put some 550 para cord on it. So far so good for now. The sheath seemed too long. Its no bad for what it is.
Until I try and make a kydex one I decided to turn mine into a scout style sheath. I cut off the bottom circle
and the belt loop. I used a lighter to get rid of the frays. I took the belt loop part and sewed it to the back of
of the sheath but only around the edge so that the molle strap would still work. I added some lightweight gear
clips to attach to belt loops or back pack loops. I wore it in the front like a belt buckle, using only the clips and
it worked really good. But I attached the belt loop thing for wearing it on my backside.

Interesting.
I don't know if I would like to scout carry a blade that long. But I'm a skinny guy.
This would rock on the tweener sheaths.

I will be interested in hearing how well it carries in the field....... Interesting.....

I wore it for an hour around the yard and house. I sat down with it on while I watched TV. I was only using the clips attached to belt loops.
I also took the hooks and hooked them to the top of my surf trunks while I messed around in the woods by my house. They stayed attached. I will report back after I spend more time in the field. So far works really good.

I did something similarish with my BK9 sheath, and I quite like it. I wear mine vertically though (just bent the beltloop down, and made the bottom more compact, and then added a swivel so the sheath moves enough that I can sit down comfortably).

The scout sheath/beltbuckle idea could be interesting. With how it is right now does it bounce/sway around a lot?

Nicely done, nicely done indeed.

It doesn't bounce much, it feels like the right place to carry it. I used regular black thread with a large needle. It sewed right through the plastic edges.

Great ingenuity! Let's see it attached! I saw this one guy with a necker with clips that held it at an angle and I thought it was pretty genius. Poke, poke...
Haven't stole it yet but locked it up in that special spot in my brain for later...yeah, not much room in there but I made it fit!

I wore it today on some surf baggies while I mowed some lawns. The clips stick right on the the top of my baggies
and they don't come off. When weedeating the knife got in the way so I attached it with the clips vertical on my side and it worked
like a charm. No belt or belt buckles. I will do a short video of how it works and looks. Coming soon.

My cheap gear clip failed, so I need better clips but it works very good to carry horizontal in the front at my waist line.
Going to pickup some better clips.

Thanks! I imagine if I tried the dangler I would also lash it with some paracord just in case.
The clips don't come off easily even if I pull up on them. They grab onto my shorts.

Yeah thats great i like it a lot. Great job, always good to see an individuals mod.
