The fur trapper era and my personal fascination with Bowie knives has inspired me to modify my BK9 into the knife I would take with me into the "tall and uncut" were I a trapper in the 1820s to 1840s. In honor of author William Johnstone, I have dubbed this knife "Preacher" so named after one of his dominant characters.

My next steep is to outfit this knife with wooden handles and a more fitting leather sheath. I thought I would take the time to share my beloved project with my brothers and sisters here. Thank you!

I have looked at a few different sources but can't seem to find the sheath type I want. I may need to make one. My thoughts are toward creating a decorative native American style sheath. I will share results when I get it where I want it to be.

Nice job. I can see the BK9 very capably filling the role of a Hudson Bay Camp Knife. Looking forward to your progress.
