So I got my Blackjack Tac-Ops 8 and I like it. A2 tool steel has quickly become one of my favs, which is why I went with the prototype over the production model. Sharp as hell, it is. And a lot lighter than it's Bark River cousin, the STS-8. Gonna have to take this out over the next break from school. I'm glad the swedge isn't sharpened, so no state can have a bird about it being a "dirk or dagger".

The scales are just begging to be replaced with some nice curly maple or desert ironwood burl. Time to find someone who can do that for me.

I was just checking these out this morning. Does it feel more like a fighter or do you think it would do ok as a camp knife/chopper? Congratulations on the sweet new blade!

I got the A2 prototype last week. It came with a super sharp convex grind. I have chopped several types of tree limbs up to three inchs. I have also split a 6" piece of maple fire wood into little pieces & it is still sharp. I love this knife !!!

I think it's a great all around blade. Good for multiple tasks. As a camp knife, it would be fine. Just be careful who sees it. The sheep scare easy.

ooo very nice..thinkin i might get me one of these pretty soon! any opinions on the A2 steel vs the production 1095 steel?

Please write a review on this knife. I want one very bad but can not afford it at this time. I am hoping there is still a few prototypes left when I am shopping for one as I also want A2 before I have to settle for a 1095 production one.

Why change the handles? Oops, you said you want wood. I understand that. Other than that are the original ones ok?

Do you think it could replace my BK9?
