My Blade 04 haul (don't expect Danbo size)

Much more modest than Shappa's or Danbo's recent haul threads. Hunter and fixed EDCs float my boat. I wanted to concentrate on the forged blade while at Blade since the other shows I go to are weighed more heavily toward stock removals, and Blade is the first show I attended that had a large group of ABS guys.

From the top: Dan Farr (JS), Charlie Ochs (MS), some Japanese brand (hand made factory), Wes Byrd (JS), and some factory puukko with a hand scribed name on the other side of the blade.

The Ochs photographs wierdly, like the blade is uneven. It does have more sculpt to it than the other blades but isn't uneven as the photo suggests.

That Japanese knife is a san mai blade. The core is blue steel at 62 Rockwell I'm told. Interesting wooden scabbard too.

Nice haul! a couple of JS and a MS! good catch. I checked out the Japanese hunters too, I don't know why I didn't get one. A great group of fixed hunters.

Nothing wrong with that haul at all. I like them all! Especially that super nice Dan Farr knife.

Of course, Dan's work takes top honors, but the Japanese knife with checkering on the handles *really* is something I like. Thanks and congrats!

I really like that Japanese knife/ Do you remember the name of the Company/person that you purchased it from? I have always wanted one with a wooden scabbard.

And of course the Farr knife is sure to be great as well!!

I think I have their business card at home still. I'll try to find it and post the info tomorrow. They have an English language website I believe.

Great choices.

As far as Danbo's haul. Been going to Blade with him for years ad I think this year was a record for him. :D.

I like 'em all, but the top one is my favorite. That Farr character does some nice work. ;)
