Much more modest than Shappa's or Danbo's recent haul threads. Hunter and fixed EDCs float my boat. I wanted to concentrate on the forged blade while at Blade since the other shows I go to are weighed more heavily toward stock removals, and Blade is the first show I attended that had a large group of ABS guys.
From the top: Dan Farr (JS), Charlie Ochs (MS), some Japanese brand (hand made factory), Wes Byrd (JS), and some factory puukko with a hand scribed name on the other side of the blade.
The Ochs photographs wierdly, like the blade is uneven. It does have more sculpt to it than the other blades but isn't uneven as the photo suggests.
That Japanese knife is a san mai blade. The core is blue steel at 62 Rockwell I'm told. Interesting wooden scabbard too.
