My blade categories and choices

I'm trying to cull the herd and sell off redundant knives, which made me think of the question: If you had to justify each of your blades, how would you categorize them, and how many categories would you have?

I typically carry a knife and multitool, and I choose the size depending on tasks for the day. Here is what I came up with, and what I decided to keep:

1. 2.5"-3" EDC Folder (Benchmade Mini Griptilian)
2. Small EDC Multitool (Leatherman Squirt) <- still questioning necessity of this.... Do I really need pliers every day? Might be replaced by a Leatherman Style on the keychain

3. 3"-4" Folder for outdoor work (Spyderco Endura FFG) <- still questioning necessity of this, since option #1 works just fine
4. Medium Multitool (Leatherman Juice)

5. 4"+ fixed blade for camping (Benchmade Fixed Griptilian) <- or ESEE 4, I cannot decide what to keep
6. Large Multitool for camping (Leatherman Wave)

This isn't meant to be an intervention to keep me from selling off my knives... It's more theoretical to ask how you classify your knives, and possibly share your favorites.

1. EDC Folder (Cold Steel Lawman)
2. Small EDC Multitool (Victorinox Climber SAK)

3. 3"-4" Folder for outdoor work (Zero Tolerance 0200 st)
4. Medium Multitool (Leatherman Blast)

5. 4"+ fixed blade for camping (Fallkniven S1, ESEE 4 and 6)
6. Large Multitool for camping (Leatherman Supertool)

7. Large campknife (Ontario Sp10)

My blade categories are few;

- Large single blade "tactical" style folder, most often with a blade length of +4.0". I currently a total of 12 I choose from with my JWS SD-3 being in my pocket now.

- Medium, 3 1/2" to 4.0" slipjoint folder, a total 8 to choose from and my current carry is a Steel Warrior Cigar Whittler pattern.

- Large fixed blade, only a couple here with a Boker Plus 2010 Broadwell being the one out. I don't carry it, just out next to the bed!

- Medium fixed blade, is my favorite, an Ontario RD-4.

- Small fixed blade, currently a Shadow Tech model VII

I will sometimes carry a fixed blade in a normal setting and when I do it is the Shadow Tech.

Work/Outdoor knives:
Cyclone
Manix 2's (the three of them)
American Lawman

General Use, lighter duty knives:
Vic Farmer
Vic Pioneer
Leek

Totally useless knife:
CS Braveheart (I have no reason for owning this one other than that it looks nifty.)

Woodworking Project:
Gerber Big Rock (Making lignum vitae handle scales for it...when I get around to it.)

That's about as organized as my knives get. :D
