So first of all, this is my first post in the CRK sub-forum so I would like to say hello :) now, for my story.
This was my first BLADE, but definitely not my last. My brother and I were there for all three days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. On Friday I already knew that I was going to be purchasing a 25, so I asked to reserve one until Sunday, so that I would still be able to look at all the booths and tables with my money intact. On Saturday they flagged me down and said there was only 2 left, including mine. At that point I had spent enough that I needed to sell my 21 with micarta inlays to afford the 25, but I forgot the box at our hotel that morning..:grumpy: so I told them I would be back in about an hour to pick it up because I had to get a few extra bucks.. so we want to the hotel, got the box, came back, made the sale and went back to the CRK booth. I was shaking with excitement at that point. But when we got there, she said we had just missed it, and that Mr Chris Reeve himself had it in his pocket:eek: but that she would talk to him at the banquet dinner that night about me getting it back. So it's Sunday, and I am shaking with excitement and anticipation as I walk back back to the CRK booth once again. Mr Reeve was sitting at the end of the table and his son at the display case. I told his son that I was the one who had a 25 reserved since Friday, an he said "oh! You're the guy! Wait just a second" and he walked over to Mr Reeve, who pulled the knife from his pocket, and then his son brought it back to me, and handed it to me :D I was practically giddy! So now I have a new Sebenza 25 that was carried by Chris Reeve himself for a day :) how's that for a first BLADE show story?

How special man! That's a great story and great blade; congrats! I wish I could make it to blade one of these years but I dont see that that happening anytime soon. Ohh well I will just have to survive off th cools stories like above!

Thank you! And it really is a great experience, I can't wait for next year! :)

Good story! Congrats. I am also new to all of this knife business, and I would like to know if the Blade Show is in the same location every year, or does it move around to other cities?

LOL - As I started reading this it seemed this was NOT going to turn out well, but it did. Congrats.

I believe it's always in the same place.. and yes, I didn't think it would turn out well either lol

Awesome story. Congrats on getting one of the best production folders made! It's even better that Mr. Reeve carried it.

That's so cool, i'd be proud to have that knife. Congratulations!:)

Awesome story! Now if you got him to autograph it, you'd need to change this tread to a sticky.

Great story, and thank you for sharing.
I figured they might sell out, so I made a beeline for them first thing Friday.

I guess it is kind of cool to have Chris Reeve carry your knife around for awhile but I find it really odd that he would do that (not that I'm doubting your story at all). I would have thought that from his viewpoint, he would think the person buying the knife is expecting a brand spanking new knife not one that he has carried around in his grubby pocket for a couple days. Hmm. Interesting.

Awesome story. That would be awesome to have a CRK that Mr. Reeve himself carried for a day or so. Thanks for sharing.

Cool story and a special knife.
Congrats to your BLADE experience and thanks for sharing.
