I feel a kinship with the folks here on BladeForums. A friendship that I dare say does not exist in many places on the Internet let alone in the world today.

Of course, some of us get to know each other better for one reason or another. My friend Shawn (Wurrwulf) is one of those folks. Without BF how would we have come into contact?

Today I was totally blown away by his unsolicited generosity. I went to get my mail and immediately saw a USPS box and my first reaction was that I forgot about ordering something. I may be getting older but not that bad. I couldn't wait to run upstairs and rip it open.

And what a package it was. A long heartfelt letter along with two other treasures. A beautiful 1947 Walking Liberty Half Dollar (my birth year) and a Case Bose Ebony Tear Drop. Shawn was considering one for himself and when he saw that I too had looked at it but was unsure, he did something rare in this world (but not here), he sent me one. I won't go on because who wants to listen to my ramblings.

I want to thank Shawn from the bottom of my heart, all my BF friends, and all those responsible for this site.

Very cool Alan! Use the knife in good health and don't spend the coin on candy or in any slot machines haha.

Yeah, this place can give, and one can receive some kind of warm fuzzy feeling inside when this stuff happens. Good people here for sure.

That's good stuff, right there!

That's a gorgeous blade right there Alan!

Good use and good health, my friend. Enjoy the southern weather and your family on your trip!

You are right. This forum is a very special place because of the very special people that make it. Rare anywhere in the world these days, especially on the internet. I have been on motorcycle forums, gun forums, other knife forums, and none of them have the quality of people that you find here.

Very nice story of generosity here. I'm happy to be a member of the BF club!

Awesome story and great generosity by Wurrwulf! I've been lurking on the forum for awhile, but posting more of late. Really great people here ... and some pretty nice knives too!
