My blur has a "shark tooth" thumb stud

When I got the knife I liked the design because I was sure that my thumb would open the blade and not slip off of the thumb stud. And it does work very well although it seems that the thumb stud should rotate slightly so that the angled surface hits more perpendicular to the end of my thumb. Maybe with other hand shapes it works better for other people.

So I decided to carry the blur today, and I have relatively tight jeans pockets. I found real quick that I could not put my hands in my pockets without the end of the thumb stud digging in The first time I thought for sure my hand would come out bleeding. Do other people have this problem? Should I just round the tip a little at a time until it no longer eats my skin?

Take a file and gently knock down the sharp parts on both studs, 2 second job. If you don't have a file you could use a sharpening stone/hone, even the ceramic ring on unerside of a coffee mug would probably work.

What Crom said, file it down a little. I had the same problem, it was scratching (and actually did draw blood) my pinky. I changed it to tip-up carry stule and the problem was solved.

Do what I do and carry it tip down in your back pocket. It's flat enough that it won't bug you at all.

One of my Blurs put nice little cut on the meaty side of my palm when I try to dig my keys out of my pocket. For some reason that cut took longer then usual to heal and itched like poison ivy. I took a file to it and knocked the edge down a bit.

...those thumb-studs do poke, but as mentioned before, tip-up carry reduces play time with it...
