I haven't been this excited about receiving anything in the mail since i was 13 and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue came in the mail. Is this sad to be so excited over a knife?

Happens to me everytime... only its a major letdown if u dont like it.

Been there. Bought a counterfeit SOG off eBay about a month ago. Huge letdown. Didn't pay close enough attention to the listing. Late night eBay maybe a drink or two.

Debby downer!
I'm sure OP will love his Blur.

That came out wrong, im sure he will love the blur.... i was just saying in general.

Sorry man, I know how it feels... buying knives is a risky biz! :D

Nothing wrong with that. Why buy it if you're not going to be excited about it? I concur that you will not be disappointed, especially if it is your first higher end steel. I know I love mine.

I like it. It is a nice looking knife and the assist is great. Out of the box it pushed through paper but didn't shave. Not sure it needs to be that fine of an edge though easier to damage a finer edge right? It fits nicely in my pocket and I don't notice the weight it feels light. I cant decide if u want to carry it tip up or down. Yes this is my first higher end steel. I'm going to have to get used to the angled thumb studs. I also think they should've given it a flipper. Now I want a few more nicer knives.

Congrats! The S30V Blur was also my first blade with premium steel.

One of the great things about the Blur is that you can remove the torsion bar since it has a separate detent to keep the blade closed. I've done so with all of mine (including my S30V Blur) and I like it much better as a manual opener.

I did have to knock off the corners of the thumb studs with my dremel. I cut my hand on it reaching past the knife to get my keys. Not fair! I cut myself on it, and it wasn't even open :D

ETA:
I agree, it would have been great to have a flipper. However, I love the "thwack" of the assist. I don't see myself de-assisting mine.

Mitch Rapp carries a Blur. Can't find a better endorsement than that.
