I ordered a Boss Jack from the Custom Shop in November, and Lexi informed me, that it was ready in a record 3 (not 2) weeks.

In end January I completed the 3rd and final payment, and the knife was shipped to me.

Shortly thereafter, the STUpid Danish postal service informed me that the knife had been returned to Busse, due to the dangerous nature of the package content:thumbdn:

Then I made a deal with a company called Shop USA, who agreed to take on the shipping. And the knife was literally shipped. By boat, which took a while.

WHEN the Danish customs got spook by the dangerous nature of the package content, and handed it over the police.

They cleared the knife, at left a message on my phone saying, "all is good, we will send the knife to you". They send the knife with a simple post mark, no insurance, no tracking info. This was in the beginning of April.
The package got lost...:thumbdn:

So I have been calling, e-mailing, filing complaints and so on...

And finally, the police called me last week, telling me, that the knife had been returned to them.
They politely asked me, if they should send the knife to me. I told them NOOOOOOO!

Got on my bike, and picked it up my self...

So here it is...

"Dangerous nature"of a simple straight edged, fixed bladed knife!?!?!?!...... Your postal employees ought to take a look in all of their kitchen drawers and they'd find a whole lot of objects of the same "Dangerous nature"..... Jeeeez!!! The world we live in!..... I'm wondering if the word "combat" appeared in the companie's name on the shipping label or description?

That could be what spooked them.

All knives over 4.5" are subject to the Danish Postal service (called Post Danmark officially, Un-officially: PEST Danmark) rules on weapons.
We all know, that all knives are weapons!!

And yes, I can go into any hardware store or any convenience store, and buy a 10" butchers knife.

Many companies actually refuse to ship to Denmark, due to this kind of harassment from government institutions.

That was one hell of a ride , seems like your happy with the end result.....congrats!

Happy for you that you finally got it! When you order something that cost a lot of money and it goes missing. That has to be stressful!

I thought the Swedish knife laws where idiotic and confusing, but at least we don't have any rules on length.. yet!

Glad you finally got it, must have been a relief! Nice Boss Jack.

Dang, that is rough! Congrats on finally getting it in hand. Great looking Boss Jack

Thanks, guys...

Being a knifeguy in Denmark is a real pain!

Our government would like it best, if we all just took up knitting as a hobby...

But then we would probably start seeing restrictions on the length of knitting pins (is that the right word?)
And the yarn would have to be weak, so no one could get strangled...

I feel your pain brother…. Australia can be a bit funny at times also! Glad you finally got it!

Lawrie

There is only a problem with PEST Danmark if you order something from a non EU country. Cause then your package will be scanned.
I have recieved a 18" machete, condor hudson bay and other large knives with PEST Danmark with no problem. They where sent from the UK.

That is a sweet looking knife. Congratulations :-)

@jgn, thanks. I too have received big knives from inside the EU...
I will post a review on our "home forum" shortly.

@BÉMA, I will bring it to the gatherig in Oslo.
So if you make it there, you can check it out:cool:

I´ll be there..
..and perhaps my CG will tag along as well.
I´d like to try out a boss jack with thinner stock.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Holy moly!!!! That's one hell of a ride! Congrats on the knife though, the boss jack rules!
