My Box Elder arrived from Plaza Cutlery & I wanted to let y'all see it (OK, I wanted to show it off :p ). BTW, I highly recommend the folks at Plaza. They are simply excellent folks with which to transact business. Also attached is my new Mnandi "family" portrait.

I just realized I need to identify the various Inlays. They are (in clockwsie order from the top right): Bocote, Box Elder, African Blackwood, Mammoth Ivory, Snakewood and Giraffe Bone.

Dude, you have way too much money.

Nice family  , actually I'm kinda jealous, If ya ever want to adopt one out, I'd make a great guardian. :D

A very beautiful and equally well thought out collection - choice bone and timber throughout, covering from pale to black woods.

Stunning pieces indeed and, as we had previously chatted about, probably one of the best examples of Box Elder about - for sure. I can see what you mean about waiting for the right piece, now.

I also see (and fancy) that Snakewood, it seems to show a great pattern, too. There are a load of them going around now with a very tight and dark timber - your's certainly isn't one of them....exceptionally clear and open grained, fantastic.

Thanks for sharing, trane fan :)

Mark.

Nice. Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta go clean the drool out of my keyboard .... ;)

the more I look at pictures the more I think Box Elder is the most beautiful wood insert available from CRK...

when is the next batch of wood insert coming out?

Gorgeous boxwood elder, and a great looking family. Must be fun to get all the Mnandis together to look at. Nice photos too.

eeny, meany, miney, mo :D

NICE family TF; you should be proud of them ! :D

TF,

Beautiful knife and awesome collection!! I have always been more of a Sebbiephile myself, but you present a very good case for the Mnandis :)

Just curious TF, which are users?
The Bocote and African Blackwood Mnandis are my EDC rotation since they are "standard" inlays. All the other inlays are "premium" or better, which is all I am trying to collect at this point. ;)

Sweeeet. You should keep an eye out for the prototypes and the first series of numbered ones as well, I think they were all Zircote(?)

Nice, I like the starfish layout. Tranefan, I purpose that every time YOU add one WE get a new family portrait collection. Dan has some new ones just added to his site. UNfortunatley for me my wife currently has a WH on hold with him so I am unable to proceed with any purchases till that one is out of hoc. Having said that when the wife buys a WH it's a good sign.

I know there will be a lot of sad people, but from all the talk I went out and picked up the box elder from PlazaCutlery today with the decorated pin. I just couldn't resist -- I've been looking at it for at least a month. Also convinced my dad to pick up a unique decorated large sebenza so he can share in the fun. Can't wait to take a family portait with my Aviator and small sebenza.

Bloody nice collection. The real ducks guts as we would say here in Oz.

A snakewood Mnandi will be the first thing on my shopping list when I become rich!

Well done, that's a fine knife.

I see the Bocote with decorated pin is sold, too.

Dan certainly has his fair share of CRK knives ..... there are some more cool Mnandis new in stock, such as Black Palm and Mammoth Ivory.

Not to mention that Camel Thorn which is beautiful, too.

What would make anyone want to collect them  ;) :D........

Mark I think Dan should start paying you and I for promoting Plaza. :D As to the Black Palm and Camel Thorn, they are both very beautiful and my drool meter pegs every time I see them. Oh, I hope one or both are still available by the next time I raise enough funds. ;)
