I know we aren't supposed to post sales, but I'd brether have you guys get these knives than a non forum member....

Basically my knee is way messed up, and I have to have my 4th surgery. That surgery is experimental (it's either that or a total knee replacement!), so it's not totally covered by insurance.....

ZT set, pbf set, bandicoot, busse hat, basic 3 and AS for sale....

Also, if any of you are the praying types, keep me in mind....

Thanks,

Dave

Sorry to hear about you knee. You have some fine blades for sale. Wish I could get some of them. Best of luck, and please keep us posted on your progress:)

Dave,

Short on dough, but prayers I can do!

What are they planning to do? (4 knee surgeries myself)

Best of luck!

Thanks guys....

Oku,

basically, I tore my knee up long ago, and broke a bone in my knee. They have taken the bone out, and alot of my cartlidge and muscle is gone from the knee.....But due to ground fighting/ju jitsu and boxing, the twisting has further weakened the knee and given me arthritis (only 31 yrs old!).....I have been advised that I can do two things. Get a total knee replacement, and quite m. arts, basketball, everything but swimming and biking, or....

They go in, clean it up. While they are in there, they take two tick tack sized pieces of muscle out. They then grow that muscle in a lab. Then, when enough muscle is grown, they cut me way open, and "inject" the muscle around the weakened bone in my knee. They will try to have the muscle grow around the knee, cushioning it and supporting it. I will also be getting new fake ligaments....i'll be on crutches for four months, a cane for another four.....then we hope it takes, and it works.....

sorry for such a long post...and thanks for the prayers....

enjoy your dinner....:D

Ouch! I am so glad my problem was just the kneecap man...

Going to your thread for a peekiboo now.

Prayer said!

Get well brother...

ouch!! Been through plenty of experimental heart treatment deals with my dad, so far all have worked 100%.

There in lies my problem, My INFI resistence weakens when I'm sleepy :) You can't do this to me, what happened to the brotherhood!! :D

Yow!

They were doin something like that with cartilage too (shark maybe). Not sure how sucessful it was (is?).

Have they considered autograft for the ligaments? I had ACL reconstruction done that way, and after my body rejected the screws, (and they were removed) I was able to go back to training and generally doing the stupid stuff I like to do.

In my case they used a chunk of infrapatellar ligament to replace the torn ACL. They are now using hamstring material and doubling it over a few times. Both procedures are proven and result in a repair that is stronger than the original part.

You are about to find out about "mental practice" in martial arts. I suggest that as soon as you can be out and about, go to practice and watch, maybe help teach if you can. Keeping your head "in the game" will pay off. This is not theory for me. I've done it and it works.

Surgery date?

Oku

the first clean up is about two months from now, the anywhere from 4-6 months is the major one.....

Yeah, I'm going to keep my head in the game, this won't be the first time I've been out for an extended period of time....unfortunatly I was training for a grappling tourney...

Oh well, I can still walk!

I am going to have to get a little knee repair myself, sometime. The Doc. wanted to do it when I was 15 after an injury, but I chickened out. My knees hurt all the freakin' time and I limp when I'm tired. No real point in getting them fixed until I shed some excess weight(a bunch), but my wife and I have started a lifestyle change that should make that possible. I know it is still going to be 3-5 years away, barring any injury, so I'll be interested to know how things are going for you. I'm 30 now, so your not alone in blowing your knees young. If you ever need to get a load of your chest or after surgery you are going stir crazy, you can always shoot me a mail. Sometimes the sympathy of strangers can make you feel better:) You and your family family will be put on our prayer list.

Edited to add: It sounds like a really cool procedure. Medicine is making leaps and bounds everyday. Sucks about ins. not covering it. They sure are happy to take your money, but you damn near have to beat it out of them.

Best to you an your procedures. Do not ever underestimate the power of prayer. God may your knees and he sure knows how to fix them. Let us know how you make out.

I had an ACL replacement and Meniscos resection done about 12 years ago....had me down for almost 8 months. This thing you are getting sounds like some major surgery...Good luck with it! Hope the recovery time is a lot faster than expected.
