I was perusing the current issue of PC Wolrd magazine and came across the Gear Up For Your Trip section on page 21. I read the article but really didn't notice the picture of the dude outlined in blue. After a quick glance I realized that the pic is of my brother! He works for Ziff-Davis in the circulation department and modeled for the pic. Unfortunately, they didn't let him keep the gear he's sporting.

My issue is now autographed. :)

All's y'all are not getting it..... KVC's bro is the product of a CAD printout from some AIA guy. Duh.

Sort of sketchy character, isn't he? And, despite all the gear, he's apparently feeling a bit blue... maybe because they didn't let him keep it.

Funny they didn't mention the Jawbone bluetooth headset he's wearing, it's worthy of mention as well lmao.

Why do people go on trips and carry all that rubbish?

What's the point of being somewhere new, and doing nothing but looking at your old photos, listening to your old music and communicating with no-one but your old acquaintances?

Last year I was on a bus through Edinburgh. It's a beautiful, fascinating historic city. On the bus was a group of American teenagers. Every one of them had his or her face glued to their mobile 'phones, texting away.

They might as well have been in Duluth or Goat Cheese, Idaho.

Sad.

He should have told them he farted on the gear or maybe he has some kind of infection they don't have a name for yet - then maybe they would have let him keep it.

I hope you set him straight at the next family BBQ, Ken.
Let him know that it's cooler to be a supermod(erator) than just a mod(el).

Oh these kids today I tell ya, obviously didn't pay for their own trip.

I'll have you know Goat Cheese, Idaho is a wonderful vacation spot, just don't tell anyone or it will ruin the ambiance. ;)

Funny you should mention that. I asked him about it and he said they wrote it up for the article but didn't put it in for lack of realestate on the page. It was some bulky BT headset that he said was very uncomfortable to wear (he has a big head and little ears...sorta' Shrek-like in their appearence). The laptop bag on his shoulder was omitted as well.

Knowing my brother I'm pretty sure he did. ;) :D

True.

And you don't have to be on special tour in a historic city. There are interesting things to see and hear and smell and feel even on a routine walk to the mailbox in your own neighborhood, but not if your ears are covered by "noise"-canceling headphones, your eyes are focused on your portable PC or cell phone or video game toy, and not when your mind is utterly distracted.
