I ordered my byrds after reading some of the post here and there couldn't wait to get them. Ordered the frn cara cara and the frn meadowlark. I have also ordered the cara cara g-10 and the meadowlark g-10. I have many spyderco's and have had many over the years never had this problem. I put some blue locktite on the screws and put them back in. should the knife be sent back or will this fix the problem. Oh sorry for the babal the cara cara was the problem knife 3 of the screws fell out when i open the box. Your feedback is appreciated. sorry for the miss spell on the heading

I've always known the phrase 'screw the pooch - but this is the first I've heard of 'Screw the Byrd'!

I too bought a CaraCara, and one of the pocket-clip screws loosened up a bit after carrying it a few days. I noticed the looseness before the screw fell out, so I just tightened it up, and found the other two pocket-clip screws were also a bit loose, and they tightened up nicely. No problems since then...My personal opinion is that if the screws tighten up and the lock-tite holds, the problem is fixed. However, if there is an issue where the screws can't be tightened, or they continually loosen and fall out, I would send it back. I am amazed by the quality of this knife, for the price. I also have the hawkbill knife from this maker- really good quality products, in my (novice) opinion...

i agree thats why i have bought 4 of them my dad gave me one and i let my wife have it she has used it to death for every thing from yard work to crafts to cut legs down on her pants she never parts from that knife it has held up so well i wanted a few for my self sence she won't let me have the on i gave back. SHE has even had me order her the all black meadowlark it came today also she hasn't got to see it yet but shes gonna freak it is a very nice knife.I hope the loctite holds the screw tightened up so tight the blade wouldn't move so i losened them a bit and now it seems fine just want to make sure the knife is ok before putting it to work.
