My Buck Strider 889 impressed the heck out of me at work the other night.

We had a situation where we had to re-ice some 50lb cases of salmon.well,564 cases with at least 2 plastic straps each.My 889 had a big task ahead of it.
The edge held up well and it didn't take any time at all to re-sharpen it.There was no chipping or rolling.and the re-sharpen was a breeze.

That's the sort of preformance I have come to expect from big tank-like knives. Nothing but pure heavy duty. Buck does make some nice tanks but I prefer Spydercos. They come sharper from my experience.

I wouldnt mind a few Striders but man i cant get over the looks or ergos. I guess I will stick with my Spyderco's and Benchmades.

with apologies to mmmotorcycle, that's the kind of performance I have always expected (and received) from my Buck knives.

Good to hear.
