I recently got a Buck VP and I'm really liking it. I know some people where complaining about QC, blade centering, etc. but mine came up pretty well. I'm using it as an EDC and am very pleased. How are you guys using yours (edc, hunting, carving, etc) ??

That's good to hear. I was thinking about getting a cheaper knife with s30v, was deciding between this and a spyderco native. How tough does it seem to you? Do ergonomics seem ok?

I'm not giving it any extreme use but it feels really tough. The lockup is pretty solid and there's no blade play at all. The G10 handles feel sturdy enough. However the texture is a little bit more smooth than I'd like but I already got used to it. For that price, a blade with S30v steel and the Bos heat treatment is a really good buy.

nice. having a small avid and blue/black force pro coming my way next week. temped to get a OD force pro too but i need to see that stonewash in person

My blade falls out in my pocket. All but that it's well worth the price, I paid $77 shipped for the Vantage Force Pro, black blade, black/blue G10 scales. The bushings are nylon so don't expect a very smooth action, liner lock is thin, blade overall good size with nice belly but hollow grind. A Buck S30V BOS heat treat just screams every lasting. If your a Buck fan this is a must.

How does the blade fall out of your pocket?

I had a pro, it was nice. The only thing that kinda bothered me was that the edges on the handle, spine, and flipper seemed a little sharp. I have an Avid now and I really like it. A lot smoother all around.

I think the Avid an the Pro are some of the best deals on the market.

It doesn fall out of my pocket, the blade fall out of the fold becuase it does not have closed detents.

Mine sees a good deal of pocket time as a light to moderate use EDC blade. No issues at all. I like the deep carry a great deal, it deploys easily, looks good and feels good in the hand. I like it now even more than when I bought it, which is the sign of a fine knife.

I like my Vantage Pro. The fit is overall pretty good, but there are some spots where the scales are not even with the liners. To me, it's not a big deal because I got it for a really, really good price. It doesn't affect function one bit and is only a minor annoyance. My blade is centered, smooth and has a great finish on it. The blade is ground really thin which allows it to be a super slicer. The one thing I can ding the Vantage pro for would be the flipper action. It isn't great. It works, but a bit of wrist flick seems to be needed most of the time.

I liked it at first, but as I used it more, the handle ergonomics didn't work for me compared to other knives available.
