First let me apologize up front for the lack of pictures, i had my digital camera, took pictures and when i lost my knife i ruined my camera.... heres the story......
So i had planned to to take a picture for the competition i started, not as an entry, its just what i had in mind when i started it. I took a wooden board about 12"x12" put nice rocks around the edge and dirt on the bottom, then i made a teepee on the wood platform with small sticks and wood shavings i also punched a hole in the board and tied some 550 cord to it. i set the wood on fire and pushed the floating fire into the lake with my bk11 stuck in board by the fire. the board floated well so i got ready for the picture, pushed the board out, tied to a lanyard. I took a picture and my knife fell off the board into the lake. it was 50 degress but i still went in the lake after my precious piece of metal, never hesitating to drop the camera or take off my shoes lmao. I retrieved my bk11 just fine though.
So im out a nice camera which cost over 5 times the amount of the knife, but at the time the knife seemed like all that mattered, the wife disagreed
Even with my lack of thinking, the trip was a blast. i did some fishing, but caught nothing. which never matters to me, i simply love sitting by the water. I did the wood proccessing with my ontario sp8 but for everything else the bk11 was the ticket. I think now i need a bk9 for chopping as this .25" sp8 blade is a bit much, it still worked but it works better at batoning even with the sawback.
All in all a great weekend, The biggest issue was having to come back to the city.
