Bob T.,

It is a righthanded one (I'm a LEFTY), but I still love it - some folks didn't like the finger cuts outs, but they fit me pretty nice (my hands are normal sized). Locks up SOLID, and very quiet, too (this is good and bad - I like the noise so I know it is locked).

My only complaint is I wish you would supply the knife with thumb studs on both sides

. Other than that, it is "BOMB PROOF" - I know you don't like that phrase...LOL. Well, it is damn near close to that!

Now after this, how can it get out done? EASY - the bigger and badder one is coming and its name is called 'SIFU'! I ordered a green LEFTY SIFU - illegal to carry around where I live, but like SING, I plan on just having it around, using it around the house.

. Thanks for offering the HAND GROUND and NUMBERED Sifu's to us BF'ers.

Love the REKAT line - strongest DAMN locks out there, made by people who love tuff knives!

OK, no one respond that is OK, I will just type to myself then?! LOL.

One thing I have found out so far about the Carinvour - those that have complained about the action being stiff/sticky: the standoff right above thumb lock - if you have the hex cap screws tightened down way too hard, you will be binding the action! I snugged up all the screws after a couple of days and found the action even tighter. I backed off on the screw above the thumb lock, and the action is no longer rough, or needs to break in! I thought at first I had tightened the blade pivot screws too much so I back them both out.....action was STILL tight. Something was binding

Simple fix!

If you ever handled a BM 710 Axis lock, and flicked the blade back and forth to open it with the lock, the Carnivore is the same way. I am lefty so I pull back on the lock with my pointing finger (LH) and a slight wrist movement brings the blade to open postion, then I immediately let go of the thumb lever. I do the same thing to close, it, too.

Has anyone else tried loosening the screws just above the thumb lock??? Does anyone open/close their REKATs like I do using the lock lever/button? I originally learned this with my ol'style exterior lever Pioneer w/ ball detent

.

Originally, I was going to open up the action and polish some surfaces, but I won't do that until later, if at all. I may still take the knife apart and measure all the standoffs/spacers between the liners to see if one if just a little longer - I would use th slightly longer one by the thumb lock. This way I can tighten down all the screws. Let me know if this helps!

All of the spacers in my Pocket Hobbit were different sizes. Moving the larger spacers towards the pivot was a big help in smoothing out the action.

Thanks Colin! Some one responded.....LOL. I knew some one else had tried this already. The BF group is pretty bright and like to tinker, too.

Post all ye LURKERS!
