I'm getting ready to go to work, so my EDC stuff is laying on the bed next to me, our black and white shorthair cat, Blue, jumps up on the bed, and *demands* i pay attention to him, apparently petting him a couple times wasn't sufficient....

he looked at me, then my EDC stuff, then me, then proceeded to *lie down on my EDC gear*, and look up at me with an evil/innocent look....

i pet him a little more, and remove the EDC stuff from under him, move it to another part of the bed, he goes over and *lies down on it, again*, with that mischevous look in his eyes....

smart little feline....

Your cat was simply warming-up the EDC items for you.:D.:D.

And yes...Cats ARE very smart..

Mine does the same kind of thing. when I'm at the computer and it wants attention it sits right on my hand that is on the mouse.

I normally open my eyes in the morning about 5:40am and like to lay quiet till about 5:50am before getting out of bed. No matter what I do, my cat Lucy sits on my night stand in front of the digital clock so I can't see it, which forces me out of bed:(

My 16 pound tuxeudo cat goes one step further - He sits in front of the monitor. Usually when I'm playing "Return to catsle Wolfenstien" over the internet.

My cat changed the greeting message on my answering machine tonight. She was standing on it, (I heard it beeping from the other room) first she played the same message over and over. Then she stepped on the right combination of buttons to change the greeting. So now my greeting has background tv sound on it.

We have four cats. They all know their names and come when called. They all know the others' names as well as the names of me, my wife, and our daughter and will look at and blink their eyes at that individual when prompted. They all will quit performing if you don't reward them for each response. Our big tom cat can open doors by turning the knob with his paws, which is something he learned on his own, apparently by watching how it is done. Cats are very intelligent but are not as easily motivated as dogs.

Our alpha female is sort of a star in the neighborhood - everybody knows her. She used to go across the street to visit with her best buddy who was an enormous greyhound who used to be a champion racer and was acquired through the rescue service in Connecticut. They used to chase each other around, takes naps together, and the woman who owned the dog said the cat used to ride on his back. Although I never saw that happen, it's possible since she often rides on my or my daughter's shoulders.

I love cats. I have 2 of them and they both are great. They're little people in little fur coats.

Right now one of them is lying down beside me as I type this. Yes.......they are VERY smart animals. They talk with their eyes a lot.

I too love cats, as we have 4!! They are all wonderful and special, and each have a unique and wonderful personality!

My newest cat has shown an unusually bright sign of intellegence. He actully rounds up his favorite toys and keeps them together in the house. There's only 3 of this particular toy, but I've never seen another cat do this. I'm so proud of the little guy.

Quite often, our cat Lucy takes her catnip mouse over to the water dish...I guess she thinks a drink will bring it to life:D

sweet as can be but he keeps trying to play with the old grey tabby that answers to "Evil". I've said to him "Timmorn, what are doing? You know she's mean as the day is long" more times than I can count. He just looks at me with big innocent eyes and pounces on her anyway. *shakes head*

Awwwwww, that is soooooo cool!! My 25 lb.cat and dog are in cahoots together, as they help each other get into the treat cabinet. Both of them CAN do it by themselves. The 25 lb. cat was 23 lbs. when he adopted us by attaching himself to the screens on the front of the house!! Smart kitty!!

I love that game :D

Not played it in aaages now though

On the subject of cats, mine actually bats my head at night to wake me up and get under the sheets... something i'de prefer he didn't do... :p

My old roomate had a cat that would systematically knock things (perfume bottles, makeup stuff, etc.) off of her dresser in the mornings slowly... one... by... one... until she got up & fed the little beast. Otherwise stayed off of the furniture entirely.

I used to have a cat that HATED my Elite action figure from the game Halo that I had posed on top of my stero. She managed to break off the head and arm in a single afternoon.I was really pissed and yelled at her.later she came over and began to pet my leg and gave me the best "I'm sorry" look that I've ever seen an animal give and my heart melted. When my girlfriend came home I was asleep on the coutch with her on my chest.
I miss that cat.:(
