It came in while I was out this afternoon. This is the Mistress I have longed for. I sold my FBM and FFBM. They are both outstanding choppers, but I prefer something a little faster in the hand to use in "machete mode" on occasion. Thanks to Jerry's latest incarnation of the Battle Mistress, I have the Busse I have searched for. At about 23 oz, this one is lighter and faster than my FBM was. Here is the Bushwacker next to some similar lighter choppers.
The handles are beautifully contoured and the spine rounded for baton work.
The knife is very close to the Ontario RTAKs in purpose, weight and size, but made of the incomparable INFI steel. Just what I wanted.
It slashes brush pretty well. Maybe not as fast as the 17 oz DFLE or 22 oz M9LE, but close. It does a fine job of splitting and chopping wood with its factory fresh edge.
No need for me to wait on a sheath for it, either. It fits both my Dog Father LE sheaths well enough.
It came with a good sharp edge, too. I'll do a more thorough review later, but I can already tell this Busse is a winner.
