As you all know christmas is approaching FAST. So he dig around the net for the perfect gift for DAD :).

My father used to have a Victorinox like 10 years ago, but he lost it and he never got a new one. Right now he's using a "made in china" sak clone that i bought for him like a year ago.

So now i thought it would be a perfect time to buy him a brand new REAL Victorinox, so i got him a Victorinox Waiter, for everday carry chores :). He likes to carry a small slipjoint with him, and this model will be perfect!!!

!!!So enough about me, what are you guys getting for your DAD??!!

I purchased my dad a CRK Umnum and a BM mini Rukus. They had an extra BM when I purchased my own so I felt it was an omen to pick up both while I still could. He's quite the handyman:)

last year i got him a CRKT drifter with some other stuff, this year i went with a pair of Beats by Dre Studios :D

My dad is dead.:( But not to put a bummer on this thread, because it actually is a good one, and he lived a long and full life, I will tell what I got him in the past.

He always told me to get him socks, so I always got him a knife. He preferred smaller Case knives. The last knife I gave him was a Case knife made in 1952. Can't remember the exact pattern because Case no longer makes it. Of course it had carbon steel and it was actually in very, very good condition. I got him this knife because one day we were talking about Case knives and he lamented over the steel that Case used now, vs. the steel in the older models. While the carbon steel used is the same, the steel was hardened better in the Case knives back then. The walk and talk was awesome on this knife as was the fit/finish...sambar stag.

I miss my dad, but he is in a better place now, and no longer suffers.:)

My father doesn't seem to appreciate knife all that much. He does work with lot of packaging, but he prefers cheap boxcutters that are everywhere and can be replaced at will.

So a good whiskey it is then.

And maybe I'll just gift him one of my SAK.

My dad really needed a small flashlight for working in the garage so I got him a 4sevens Preon 2.

Hi TheLazySpoiledKitty -

I am getting my dad a garage door opener.

best regards -

I picked up a Fenix LD10 for my Dad, after using his D-Cell Maglights for years and years and a crappy hardware store LED light here and there I think he'll like it. He bought a Streamlight Microstream a few weeks ago but it bounced out of the sheath he had it clipped to and lost it, worked out well as I already had his Christmas light ready to go :D

I believe I've tracked down the very same knife my father's father (my grandfather) used to carry around. It was lost some time ago after my grandfather passed away, but after some research and a lot of input from my Dad, I believe it was a Case Small Texas Jack with bone handles.

I'm buying him one of those. :) It will hopefully replace the little victorinox 'driver' that he's been carrying lately.

I ordered my old man a custom sheath for his Buck Tempest from Vess Leatherworks. He better use the damn thing!

I lost my dad when I was eight. My Grandfather (Dad's Dad) was the one who did his best to fill that void. Unfortunately I lost him a few years ago.
However every year I think of him at this time. He was an avid squirrel and quail hunter. He also loved to work wood.

I would have gotten him a Blind Horse Knives Frontier First Classic in Fiddle Back Maple with a Dangler Sheath.

My Old Man died 35 years ago in a plane crash when I was 15, so Xmas present wise I get away cheap.

When He was alive he was one of those people you'd meet on the WS&S forums here, he loved to hunt and fishm he was an avid hiker and a regular hands on guy so I would probably be gettin' him a new huntin' knife or a set of stone with a good book on sharpenin', (I'm embarrassed to say he used a grindin' wheel to sharpen his knives).

If I got him a knife I'd get him one of NathenTheMachinist knives with Osage scales, I think I'll go visit him at the cemetary and give him a rose. :)

Amen my friend, my grandfather always told me my Winchester 30-30 sucked back in the day and that I should find a pre 1954 model but I took up a bow instead. He was probably right being that he always was about things like that. He's in a better place now as well and no longer suffers. He did 95 years here and earned his ticket. BTW, he gave me a Schrade UH and after I cut the top of my finger off with it a little later, my parents "couldn't find it". I wish I had that knife to give to my boy. :(

Dad's getting a knife, he carries an Emerson CQC15 so I am not sure what kind yet, I'll know it when I see it though.

My dad passed away back in '93. He always carried a knife, and got me into carrying knives. He always carried the cheapest "made in (insert country of choice)" knife he could find because he said they were easier to sharpen :D Miss him and the cheap knives!

I'm getting my Dad and Uncle Spyderco Mules with Halpern Scales. Excited to see their reactions.

Esee Izula. He keeps commenting on my od one. Got him one in black and put an orange paracord wrap on it. His favorite harley colors.
