Yes, it may be slightly off topic, but it IS traditional
but the wife gave me a budget so i went off to the local gun/knife show and came home with this with a great deal

Marlin 336W 30-30 lever action
with a GEC 85 bullet end jack with ebony scales
and a bronze zippo that I bought myself while on vacation in new orleans a week before thanksgiving while my father and uncle came to visit
yes it was a good year this year :D

i know these things that the straps attach to are easy to find, but for the life of me i cannot recall what they are called

well you know...tomorrow IS my bday
and if the mayan's are correct its not going to be a good day to open bday presents
not to mention we wont be here to open christmas presents

so ...yeah
thats my story and i am sticking to it! :D
 
Very nice gift. I have a Marlin 1894c in .357 that is one of the most fun guns my son and I shoot.

It's hard to beat the combination of a nice slip joint and a lever gun. Congrats on the gifts and have a happy birthday tomorrow.:thumbup:
 
thanks guys

i am so mad at myself. i bought some swivels, 3 boxes of 30-30 ammo and a sling
i was all excited and stuff...and i got home and realized i got the swivels but i dont have the screws to attach the swivels to the stock

DOH!!
 
The swivel you needed usually come with screws that match the swivel, the front swivel attachs differently I think.. Try searching the Uncle Mikes website......300
 
i actually only need the back swivel
but apparently i was browsing too quickly, since it had 2 swivels, and no screws :(
 
VERY nice! I used a lever-action Marlin 30-30 to take my first deer, years ago. :)
I like your combo.
