Well, after going on a INFI selling spree :(and settling down the MRS - I was contacted by a truly great Hog and he offered me this - a NOe.
(and I cant thank him enough!)

Its something I have been after for some time. One of my first Busses was a NOe and I have owned several since - but (as the old story goes) let them slip through my hands.

Not this time. I have her and I am keeping her!

Smooth coated, asymmetrical edge w/ what I am thinking is an original sheath. SWEET! I like the classics and this is sure one of them:thumbup::D

It feels very nice, plenty to grab hold of and not too abrasive. Just like an old girlfriend coming home. :D

SHes are excellent too - but for me the NOe makes for a better all around camp blade. Lighter, easier to carry and can do about the same tasks.

And then there is the BMe - which is about the perfect larger Busse for me :)

I'm one of those who greatly laments the passing of the E handles. That was the era when I became aware of Busse, and the ergo line is still what I picture when I think of this company. It's a shame, because one of the "problems" of the E series would have been addressed by a very common feature of later designs---namely, wider blades. This would have helped counter the admittedly heavy E-handle and shifted the balance more forward, improving their chopping ability greatly. Of course, so would skeletonizing the handle a bit, as blasphemous as that sounds (done correctly, they'd STILL be absurdly strong). Don't get me wrong, I very much like many of the designs that have come later, but all of them feel slightly wrong when I pick them up, because I know what a REAL Busse is supposed to feel like. :)

Great pickup, BTW
