I'm a big fan of the old style Cold Steel Voyagers. As a teenager the knives I owned we're the flea market $10 specials. It was 1996 I was walking around a gun show with my future wife. I was looking at the knives trying pick a decent folder to carry for work. I came across a booth selling Cold Steel knives. I really liked Voyager with the tanto blade. I think I paid about $60 and it was the toughest knife I've ever owned.
I've been trying to find a non serrated version. I check Ebay every few day's to see if any pop up. A week ago I came across an auction titled "knife tanto CS New Cold Steel Tanto Large Serrated Clip free".
Imagine my surprise when I clicked on it. It was a brand new 1996 Voyager new in the box still in the plastic. It had a Buy it now price of $39.00 with free shipping.
I'm putting up a link for the original auction. The high res pictures they took are better then any I could take. http://www.ebay.com/itm/351574943396?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I have several old Voyagers Carry my X2 every where . I bought a new one . Nope not for me I tossed in drawer . I talked to Ron ealier in year . Told him wanted the old Voyagers back Lock plenty strong enough. He smiled and drew a old X2 He likes it better also.

The older Voyagers have much better design than current models. Not many pop up here on the exchange, so the bay is the best place to find them.

That is a great find!!! Like you, my first "serious" folder was a CS old style Large Voyager. Mine had a full serrated clip blade and went everywhere with me for several years until I (foolishly) broke the tip. I replaced it almost immediately with the exact same model. I probably carried that model Voyager exclusively for about 5 years. I had a mentor back in those days named Vidal. I was a teenager and he was in his mid 20s. We trained in martial arts together. He carried a Voyager. When I first saw it I told him I had seen those in my SMKW catalogs, but they wanted $60 for them, and that was too steep for me. He took me to a B&M store he knew that sold them for $45 and helped me pick out that first one.

The old Voyagers are so much nicer looking than the new style...

Amen to that brother. I own both the old and new. My edc is an old, medium voyager, 3" clip point, plain edge.
